martin, when you say "with minutes," do you mean a full 48? because he sure wasn't cutting it with 20 per as ward's backup...

The inherent problem with Eisely is that he has backup talent, and he gets starter money. Damn near star money. If the Knicks had a competent squad, I wouldn't such a beef with Eisely. But he seems to me more problem then solution. I think its telling that it is such an event whenever he gets double digits in scoring, the paychecks he brings in should make those numbers automatic night in and night out. Same thing with Shandon Anderson, a decent game and everyone gets all giddy about him. Its a testament to their mediocrity.

How about the opposite? Start Eisley and bring in Ward for 10-15 a game. Ward may be the better player (and I can't believe that I just used the combination of words 'Ward' and 'better player'), but that may be the better type of combination between the two players. Or maybe Eisley just needed to get minutes with the starters. Also, Ward seems to be a better spark player than Eisley is - and that what you need off the bench.

I don't know if Eisley just needed to shake off the rust from last year, but he just seems more effective over the past 5 games or so.

yeah, he probably doesn't have to worry about if he's going to get taken out for a mistake... now he can just play...

Eisley is 6th in the league in Asst/TO ratio and 12th in assists
overall. At least he is starting to make a contribution and if he
improves even more, might actually be trade bait although that is
a big if.

I have to admit, he is looking much better then I ever thought he would. Lets hope he keeps it up.
