Larry might have been right. There are several players on the knicks, starting with Marbury, who are NOT the answer.

We need a pass first PG. We dont need points from the PG spot.

We need a post defender. Someone who is not afraid to man up, and wont back down.

SF is fine with Q rich, JJ Slim and Balkman.

I'm willing to go with Jamal as our 2 guard, if the guy would start manning up and playing some D and mixing it up and going inside for a dunk or two. DRAW THE FOUL. You wont draw fouls taking uncontested J's and not DRIVING to the rack. DRIVE IT DAMNIT.

The Center spot remains Curry because when he cares / when he gets the rock, he is so smoove with it, but he needs some roughness!

We need to pull an ORLANDOUGH or Toronno "Canadia Delight" and dump our old crappy for team chemistry move and dump the washed up or stubborn vets like LB was suggesting.

The thing is it's the GM's job to have the vision on how to build a team...

GIve it a chance...

Larry would say that right things to the press like tell everyone he was preaching D and hard work. I relly don't think he was doing that as much as scheming to remake the roster. He never really gave the roster he was given a shot to suceed.

I ain't saying I told you so but.. I told you so

Larry was brought here to change the culture and ended up being fired for doing so. Makes a ton of sense.

Larry was wrong because the Knicks were stuck with Marbury and he knew it.

As a result, he shouldn't have taken the job if he didn't want to coach him. But Larry is a whore, so he took the money and acted like a spoiled child.

I still would have liked to have seen what Larry could have done this time around. We obviously have a problem with defense and I think Larry was trying to straighten that part out, and it's un-finished. The problem is, I think Zeke is a good offensive coach and Larry is a good defensive coach, but we can only have one.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Larry was right only in that he has a good idea of what kind of players he needs to win. He knows that his system works when he has the right kind of players.

The thing is that his way isn't the only way to win, in fact his way he only won one NBA title in all those years. His way is no better than anyone elses. The roster that we have is capable of playing different styles and we have the beginnings of a nice defensive unit. What we need is time and consistency. We have to give this team a REAL chance to succeed, unlike what LB did. All he wanted to do was clearout the lockerroom, which wasn't even practical.

Isiah has put together enough talent that if coached properly should be able to win games and make the playoffs. We're just getting started and people already want to jump ship and pronounce Larry as right about this team. CAN THEY PLAY A FREAKIN REGULAR SEASON GAME FIRST BEFORE WE RIGHT THEM OFF? GEEZ!!!

There are more anti Knick posts on this forum than anywhere else on the web. I've never seen so many guys who CLAIM to be Knick fans, so ready to give up on the team. Guys love to crack jokes about the team like they root for some other team or something. I just don't understand the mentality at all.

I think Larry is just a very strange guy, who no one understands and you either live with him or get rid of him. We know the rest.

I agree on the validity of some of the 'Knick fans' claims to be a fan. And I have also pretty much experienced a good amount of Knick bashing on other boards and can say that only time will tell. When the Knicks are flying, theres hardly a peep, but once a loss comes into view, here comes the lynch mob!
I'll never trust this' team again.

This board is heavy on the negative side these days, but it wasn't that way last year when I joined. But then the Knicks won 23 games, and for reasons unknown to me a lot of the optimists have virtually stopped posting.

It's funny to watch you criticize the negative posters daily, but we are the ones maintaining our interest in the team and not going away. Perhaps when the regular season begins the optimists will return. And surely if the Knicks do as well this year as you think they will return, and you'll congratulate them for being "real" fans - part-timers or fair weather fans as they may be.

So maybe you need to direct your perpetual angst again those who feel as you do for not being better posters rather than constantly whining about those who feel different.

Don't go starting this trash again. If you don't like it than don't post here.

I hope nixluva post a ton if the team starts off slow. I'm sure he'll have valid reasons as to why it may be the case. If they start off fast there may be hope. Although the 5th ranked poorest defense in pre-season will be playing the 3rd ranked defense in pre-season on the road, who have been without their best player in Pau Gasol. I expect a huge game from Rudy Gay.

I think Dolan gave nixluva the same ultimatum as Isiah:

"show significant improvement on the message boards or you're fired!"
