I see the potential in Swift. He is reminding me of a younger Jermaine O'neal. Tons of athleticism, no outside game yet, excellent shot blocker. Remember when Indiana took a lot of heat for giving up their all star big man (Dale Davis) for O'neal. Now who's smiling. So, I say we take a chance. We aren't going to win anyway. I say Kurt Thomas for Stromile Swift. More players can be added for salary matching, but this is the main deal. Here is a salary matcher
NY Trades: Kurt Thomas Shandon Anderson Lavar Postell Frank Williams 2002 2nd round pick (from Denver)
Memphis trades: Wesley Person Stromile Swift Shane Battier
Memphis gets the toughness that Hubie has been clamoring for. They also get a tough defender in Anderson. Postell is a scorer off the bench and Frank Williams will be an excellent backup for Jay Will in the future. Jay Will, B. Knight, F. Will Gordon Giricek, Dickerson, Postell Gooden, Anderson Thomas, Wright Gasol, Trybanski This is a good team that can finally win a game.
For New York, they take a gamble based on youth and athleticism. The rebuilding starts but our playoff chances are still good when Dice comes back. Swift can play backup center and pf (like Keon Clark). Person is cap space after next year. Losing F. Williams does not hurt us at the pg in the future because we get Milos Vujanic next year. This also gives the Knicks quality players on the bench now. Ward, Eisley Houston, Battier, Person Sprewell, Nailon Swift, Weatherspoon, Harrington Doleac, Knight
I don't think it's a bad proposal for my first post in this site. What do you think?
