Briggs! you were one of the only people who wanted to have Jalen play a significant role this year. I don't think he's a real NBA player anymore. he could be decent for the Heat or something who have Shaq and Wade to draw doubles and other guys to play defense. but on this team where we need everyone playing well, he's a trainwreck waiting to happen.

though, it is pre-season and Jalen looked like garbage last year too. I don't think he's remotely trying yet. still, I don't want to see what it looks like when he IS trying.

Jalen can still play, at least on offense, he just sees the writing on the wall and knows he is not in the Knicks plans. Thus, he is just going through the motions. We could cut him, but unless he is willing to take a huge paycut, why do it. We might be able to use his expiring contract for something good. I know that is dangerous given IT's track record, but I would rather the team have the option in case something GOOD actually does come along.

The Knicks would be a fool to cut Jalen Rose. Expiring contract could pay dividends

Why not to force Dolan to cut him, get money, and sign to other team as Mo did?

I disagree with you guys -

i actually get the feeling that Rose doesent care.. but not in a bad way... I dont think he cares about SCORING.... hes really moving the ball well out there, hes hitting the open man he might not be getting the assists but hes really helping initiate ball movement.. Maybe hes happy with helping chemistry and being positive - i see him on the bench giving loads of encouragement to Crawford especially... Even tho Rose hasent scored, i like what i've seen from him as a teamate.

I don't know what to make of Jalen anymore. After meeting with him, he said he wanted to more last season but the coach wouldn't allow him to and what not. But now it appears that he isn't even trying to score. I agree he is doing other things on the court though. I actually expected Francis to pick up that role more this year than Jalen.

i think it may be more like the games last year when steph and then nate refused to shoot. just because people call them selfish or chuckers or whatever doesn't mean we don't want them shooting at all. if jalen works he can create his shot and put up points, but he hasn't tried to do that.

jalen's carrying himself much differently from how unhappy those guys were at the time, so i'm not sure what's up. maybe he is trying to go to extremes to fit with the team. but if we don't have jalen scoring, WTF is he doing here?

there are dozens of players in the league who are known for doing that stuff. we end up with jalen, who is known for doing something else, and even being counterproductive in some of those areas. we just have too many people- incidentally our highest paid (active) players- we're trying to fit into roles they aren't best suited for on this team.

i love so many of the players on the knicks, but we keep trying to fit the wrong players around them and hoping for the best. so far the fans have gotten hosed.
