Now I didn't see the game on Saturday (Definitely happy about that!) and I understand he's struggling finding his way in the offense, but I still see him out there fighting and today, he's finally looking good. I know the Sixers lineup is week, btw, but it still counts for something. He is definitely one that seems like he's trying his best to change himself and stepped up nicely without Marbury (As did the rest of the Knicks this first half.) Lets see if he can grow, or he goes back to his old, immature ways. I'm starting to like him, even a bit more than Marbury.

I did, and then I started growing sour as his mouth kept opening and as the attitude kept rolling, and as his defense seemed to regress.

I hope he can turn things around though, b/c he's so talented, and he definitely does seem like a good person. When he plays great, you'll see me cheering as loud as everyone, and I always point out when he's playing good D

Back to the topic at hand: I was very impressed when Francis broke his finger and then blocked that shot, even though he got that BS call. Nice determination. We need to see more of that from everyone!

He really looked to get everyone involved in the offense.

Could be trouble for the Knicks too. That's why I really think one of them needs to be traded.

It's not necessary to trade either player. Isiah simply has to cut their minutes a bit and give more time to Jamal and Nate. The more the minutes are shared the better it seems for this team. There's no need for Steph and Francis to dominate the minutes anymore. They'll still get the most minutes, but just not by the huge margins that they used to get. With the pace being faster, that will mean more possessions and thus no need for more minutes, Players will feel like they've had a full productive game since they will still get enough shots and feel involved. A real team mentality is the best thing for this team.

By the way, the qtrs when Steph played happen to be some of the highest scoring qtrs we've had. He's not causing any issues in that regard. It's time we stop labeling these players and accept them as useful members of the team.

i agree that one should go. i think steve's play today was partly because of increasing comfort and him being due for a good game, but also had a lot to do with steph being out. he got a LOT of touches, mostly did well when his role was clear and he didn't have to worry about stepping on steph's toes. having one player like steph or steve can be a huge plus, but two only get in each others' way.

I dont know about Francis. But if you saw the game last night you realize that the Knicks must start Jamal Crawford in order to go anywhere this season. Because of that fact Francis may have to come off the bench.

Crawford was unreal last night. I dont think he needs to start as much as stay in the game for 40 minutes. He is also extremely streaky so coming off the bench would be a better way to control his minutes when he is in a slump.

The knicks do seem to go as Jamal goes.

ITs time we stop labeling the players and accept them for what they are. If only Isiah would do this before he gets uniforms for them.

Are you a mole?

How is this slant, maybe the team played well because Marbury was not on the floor with Francis?

Hey like I said, they can play fine with 1 of them, but both are bad. Just look at all of the first quarters with both of them in. They get killed on defense.

If Francis plays well this season, it makes sense to trade him. He just needs to show enough to enhance his trade value. Teams want effective point guards and we need a good 2.

Francys is not a point guard
We can trade Marbs for SG but it is relistic not earlier that in 2 years
Unless some of the GM's will get some mental problem or get drunk
Same goes for Francis

I agree. I don't think a Marbury/Francis backcourt can work longterm. There are too many defensive issues. We need a solid 6'6 SG that can play defense and hit jumpshots. If we can trade Francis for someone like that, I think the team would be better off. Marbury is untradable due to his salary.

we saw francis play that way last night b/c he didn't have to worry about stepping on marbury's toes. he seemed more relaxed and it would probably be the same thing if francis sat and marbury started.

or maybe there was a scout at the game and isiah told steph to sit and francis to put on a happy face to pump up his value.

i thought the team played well w/o Marbury in the rotation & the action flowed nicely w/Francis running in the backcourt w/Jamal... also, it's clear that Eddy Curry & Jamal have good synergy... Francis was HORRIBLE defending the perimeter (even worse than Marbury if u can believe that), but i thought the overall energy & flow of the game was better.

i wouldn't mind seeing Marbury traded & Francis allowed to play a scoring G role w/Craw orchestrating... then having Q Rich back up Francis at SG once JJ comes back w/Balkman backing him up at the 3... too bad that'll never happen cuz Marbury's gonna have Isiah's baby in 9 months.
