You had it right--we HAVE to LOSE to win--its the only way out of this mess
Only a savvy fan knows what is up. I took the rose-colored glasses off when i gave up my season tickets following the blunderous 2002 draft and while there was a momentary high with Isiah, the crack wore off and I can see things CLEARLY.I apologize you should be at the helm in control

LOL. Briggs, I agree with you, I've been saying it for awhile now.

Be prepared for a flaming from some posters on this board though, they will not like seeing this.

Let me get this straight...So when this team lose the first few games learning their new offense...You guys are going to be there supporting the effort 100% because you as savy fans know you have to lose to win...Or does this only pertain to Larry Brown...

It's the defense and turnovers. The guys were going through a new offense last year and didn't get it. They'll be going through another one this year. What's the excuse for playing poorly with no effort? Missing Jared? Isiah coaching poorly? Learning a new offense? NO! The players that Isiah has collected are a bunch of losers.

I will totally support it. Early losses = the usual suspects on our roster reverting to their quitting ways = Isiah getting canned = prospect of a new better GM.

Sure, I can root for that

SO I take it you don't like the players on this team? You feel they're a bunch of losers. You seem to be assuming the team isn't going to win games. I don't think it's a given that we will lose. The opening schedule isn't easy, since there are more road games, but that's no guarantee that the team won't win some of these games. It's merely realistic to assume that they will lose a lot of the road games. This isn't a battle tested group that has been playing under this system for years, so why is it not fair to be cautious about the beginning of the year?

LB NEVER established a single thing last year so in essence we're almost starting from scratch. If he had even done a halfway decent job there'd at least be something to build off of, but still you guys want to make it seem like Isiah is somehow at fault for that. The only sense of an identity and consistency we'll have seen with this group will come this year. The team hasn't played a single regular season game and already many of you guys are jumping ship and writing this team off. It's good tho. Let your true colors show, so we can identify who you HATERS are.

So Nixlva: if we are starting from scratch why is it okay for Marbs to take time off and relax during preseason like you said in another post? Shouldn't he be busting his team now so that we can learn to gel as early as possible? I'm still confused about the whole "it's okay for our vets to slack off in pre-season because everyone else is" comments.

I find it quite disappointing to see so many Knick fans salivating at the mouth over the hopes that Isiah and co. fail.

Briggs, I have respected your views before, and I understand the pain and frustration of what has transpired over the past few years, but I cannot see in any way how the arguments presented by yourself and the many others that dominate the dialogue on this forum lately are an example of objectivity.

We are all Knick fans, therefore objectivity is impossible. Let's not kid ourselves that the sort of self-gratifying anti-Isiahism that runs ramant on UK now is without flaws. So many of the arguments that have been presented -- like your point in a seperate post about Amare being out last year and how the Suns did well without him as a way of supporting your point of view -- can be refuted with plenty of other evidence on the contrary.

The reality is that most of us pick and choose evidence that fits our point of view and either dismiss or neglect that which may contradict it. I am probably just as guilty of such an offense, but I will not pretend that my view of the team is the absoulte truth.

We are all fans of the Knicks with differing views on the team and its future. It is terribly unfortunate that the way that Dolan (who I have yet to hear one Knick fan defend) has handled this team for so many years has led us to such a divide. Each of us wants the same thing in the end, and I would hope that some here would keep that in mind when going off at anyone who sees differently than one's own point of view.

My biggest concern going into this season as a fan is that too many of us have already made our decision about Isiah and the Knicks, so it won't really matter what happens, barring the team winning 50 games or some other kind of miracle. I personally, would like to see him get a fair shake as coach.

Brown got all season to take his shot with the team, so I think to base everything on one pre-season game or the month of November is a mistake. Like your example of Phoenix doing well w/o a star like Amare so have teams had good years after bad starts or a rough month, with a tough schedule. The Knick teams of the 90's did struggle on the road and against Western powers, leading many to doubt their true ability to win back then. Now if the team is 1-20 or something like that, then that's another story, but I think being realistic and reasonable are not mutually exclusive ideas.

This ship hasn't left the port and number of you are jumping off already. LB was the worst part of last year yet you guys are ready to kiss his azz. Let it go. If you guys are so ready to jump off the Knick bandwagon you are know better than the players you despise.
The main reason for the predicted bad start is Jefferies injury - Not his death.

Larry is the new Layden. Another season, another excuse.

Haters are fans just like you Nix. What we might learn is that our team is filled with losers. Has been for the last few years.

Marbury is a loser, Francis is a loser, Eddy is a loser, TT was a loser, etc etc. Isiah's the exec is a loser.

This team has a fragile ego and is soft. How many coaches gotta fly around and convince guys that they want to play for millions of dollars.

What I am hearing is that the group that Larry tried to coach his way is still unprofessional selfish.

Is there hope? Sure, eddy is still young, and craw, Lee, frye, Jared and even Special Nate might have a shot if you can get rid of SallyJesseBury and FranPHuch. And maybe we can build on the bulls pick this year too!

This is the team, maybe being real down on them is a self defensive trait haters have to prevent any more dissapointments from happeing.

I've Dolan got my money, I already been to a game. Haters go to games. I will see them in Charlotte also. Haters travel to games. Haters care, Haters right, and haters sniff out the truth and don't suck up the propoganda.

Learn the new offense? Play the theme to born free and watch Franbury "do their thing"!
