OT: just got back from the Hawks game...... and I like that team....

I just got back from the Hawks game, my friend and I have seats right there on the floor behind the visitors backboard. I watched the hawks, the team we have to play NOV 3rd, here in atlanta, and I am impressed with that team. They are very long, pretty athletic and they can put 5 guys on the floor that can all, handle and score the ball, then you add sheldon williams who Impressed me, because he is like a unmovable rock down low and you have a solid Hawks team. I think they will give the knicks a hard time with their length, and guys like marvin williams have gotten better. I actually like that hawks team, they really are putting together a nice core of players together, and doin it on the cheap.... They remind of what the knicks can be less, the contracts of marbury, francis and Jalen.... Young, cheap and fun to watch with flexibility to make more moves...

I think they are one the right path. all their youth plus grabbing Indianas #1 pick and doing it on the cheap is very smart management. Makes you kind of wonder why they can commit to youth and we cant
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

when the hawks go with a lineup of Joe Johnson, Josh childress, Josh smith, Marvin williams and Sheldon williams, they are quick and can cover damn near the whole court... that is impressive. They had Ty lue running point and he was tearing up antonio Daniels for a while there... when they get claxton back, they are going to have a nice team. The hawks are a chris paul away from being a heck of a team.... oh wait, they pass on paul...

if there's a team that's close to being like the suns, it's the hawks. and like tkf said, they're one steve nash (in this case chris paul) away from emulating that team. 4-5 guys that are highly skilled and can fill it up from inside and outside as well as some defensive guys like the two josh's...yeah, this team is a pg away from becoming suns east.

Speedy is essentially Chris Paul rookie season given starter minutes. He was up for 6th man of the yr just last yr or the yr before. I like their team not to mention I feel Zaza Pachulia(12pts 8reb last yr) is more of a sound center than Curry. The problem with their team besides their youth is that they are pretty much all athleticism meanwhile Orlando and Toronto are more balanced young teams.

they also needed a banger/defender in Sheldon. But yes, they have passed on some pretty good PGs. Strange.

They could/should have drafted chris paul instead of marvin williams. very dumb.

Marvin williams looks good, Josh childress IMO is a better Jared Jeffries, Josh smith is a hell of a athlete, and sheldon williams is going to be a rock in the paint. Joe Johnson just glues everything all together, and when you look at them, it is clear that JJ is the leader, they look to him to carry them at the end of games, yet they play with a confidence in each other that I admire.... They will have some depth issues, but that happens when you build on the cheap, but they will be fun to watch. I think they are going to give the knicks hell come NOV 3rd..

My question is does Woodson know what he has in ATL like D'antoni has in phoenix. Will he put the players in the right position to win ?
