i kind of thought that charlotte would be my sleeper for the year to sneak up, but more and more it is evident that a team with a superstar[howard] tremendous depth outside shooting size/shot blocking rebounding really smart PGs athletsicm and thats not counting grant hill:) who could be considered superstar #2. I just like the looks of the team

I agree, but I wouldnt even really call them a sleeper, I remember reading some sports writers saying that they expect them to make the playoffs, especially after the way they played last season after francis was traded. Of course nothing is a sure fire thing.

I dont understand why they took Jameer Nelson when they already had Steve Francis. So weird.

I see teams like that and I honestly get jelous.

i actually think the Knicks are a good bet to sneak into the playoffs this year... no other teams in the East really impress me other than the Heat, Bulls, Pistons, Cavs & Nets.

they both came in the same year... was Nelson drafted first or was Francis brought in via the trade?

It must be a great time to be a Magic fan. A ferocious big man who cant even legally buy a beer yet and not one diva on the roster, another extremely talented big man in Darko, a rising star PG in Nelson, a gifted shooter in Redick and a quality veteran player in Hill. That my friends is the beauty of truly rebuilding. Sure, they had 3 down years but atleast they didn't have a 100+ payroll and still losing 40+ games a year.

Why can't my team do this.

Yeah Orlando isn't a sleeper team. They will make the playoffs if they stay healthy. I'm going to go with Boston being the sleeper team in the East.

The real sleeper in the East will be the Toronto Raptors.

Not because they had the #1 pick Bargarnai from Italy, but Mr Colangelo has the abiltiy to instill confidence in a franchise like no other.

I would define the ultimate sleeper as a team who succeeds despite the fact that the media & its own fans (see this very website) cannot manufacture the slightest optimism towards their team. This is despite a boatload of promising young players, a GM/coach walking the plank (meaning there's tremendous motivation) and a team full of players that another coach quit 10 games into the season & proceded to hang 'em out to dry (another words, if the afore-mentioned coach plays his cards right, he can have these guys with an "us against the world" mentality....a valuable commodity in sports).

Knicks in a heartbeat.

5 - Darko....who the hell knows what he'll be.
4 - Howard is a young Kenyon Martin (great athlete at the 4, but offensively challenged). I'll admit, he is a beast though.
3 - Ariza - please!
2 - Redick could be Jeff Hornacek, but he could be Trajon Langdon too.
1 - Nelson is a nice little point guard who should have a productive David Wesley like career.

Dwight Howard is offensively challanged? What games are you watching? Grant Hill starts at the 5 for Orlando, even in his old age he is still better than any Knick player.
