We have some booms - JJ, Malik,
We have some FUTURE good role players (unproven) Lee, Balkman, Collins, Nate, Jaffres
Some players who were something but not any more due to age, injuries, attitude - QRich, Francis, Jalen, Marbs
Unproven young big men - Fry, Curry
Always mediocre Craf

Why this group is a collection of EXCEPTIONAL talents?
Why it is better set of players that in any other NBA team?

It's not.

It isn't. In fact as a collection it's worse than most NBA teams.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

The answer is -- they are not a good team until they prove they are a good team.

I hear you guys
But my question is about the talent hype.
A lot of people on this forum, in the press, and around NBA are talking about Knicks heaving so much talent.
And yalla, yalla, yalla...

They have big price tags attached to them but the talent...???
From where all this is coming from???

This team has talent, it just is not well put together talent. Marbury, Crawford, and Francis are guys that can drop 25-30 points on anybody if given the green light to shoot. Other than Shaq, Duncan, Amare, O'Neal there are few other big men in the league that can score in the post like Curry. Lee, Balkman, Nate, Q-Rich would all be rotation players on most NBA teams, and Frye is a borderline NBA starting PF. Is the team the most talent in the league, no. But the team has talent. The problem is not talent but rather chemistry and defense. If the team develops those two things, you will not be arguing that the team does not have talent.

there's talent but almost every guy is either one dimensional or has a massive hole in their game. Like Curry and his 2 rebounds in 3 minutes or he and Frye giving up 8 offensive boards. Marbury, Frye, Francis, Nate, Jalen, Curry, Crawford and others are so bad on defense it negates their offensive prowess.

Do we have one guy on this team you can call a complete player? Would Crawford be the closest thing?

25-30 for these 3 guards will be considered exceptional game. There is more that one player on each NBA team who are doing this on consistent basis. And there are some who will consider this a disappointment. Plus as mentioned points not reflecting the player’s skills. Somebody can drop 30 but because of % and defense it can be negative count for the team.
As per Curry it’s the same story with efficiency. Good center is a double/double player with a couple of shot-blocks who can at least defend his opposition man. This is not Curry. Not even close.
Size, speed, and strength are not the talents - these are physical abilities. Talent is to have The Game regardless this abilities or at least ability to utilize what’s given from god.
I am not talking about work ethics and personality required to make talent and physical abilities win games.

I think Lee, Fry, Nate, Balcman, and even Collins can became complete players in 2-3 years from now. At least they have average NBA skills and some intangibles. Some of them can become solid role players. But this is long time to be seen.
Crawford is definitely the best all around player from the veterans. He still has some potential to improve his game. I am not sure if he is in the right place for this. Last year was very good for him. He benefited from LB couching a lot and this can help him to go to another level. But can IT help his game and give some attention to him in this difficult situation? I am not sure.
