I watched some of the Grizz game and I must say - I think I would prefer getting Swift - but I dont understand why they would give him up.

saw some of Swift in the Tuesday night clips - they guy has tons of athleticism. Tons. But is only 6'9". The Knicks will already have Dice and Swift would be forced to play C, and that's not going to happen.

who cares is swift is only 6-9. He has a huge wingspan and jumps out of the gym. If the griz will package him along with a pick or another player, we should jump on it. Swift could play center in the east, he blocks shots like a mad man.

The problem with trading with the Grizz is:

1. Jerry West isn't going to make a bad trade.
2. If Jerry gives up on Swift (which I doubt he will), there is something wrong with him, and a good chance that no other team will be able to unleash his potential.

For my sake, I hope Swift isn't traded to the Knicks. I got him on my fantasy squad and his numbers would plummet (like all other players traded to the Knicks) if dealt to the Knicks. But for the Knicks sake, Swift would definitely be a great pick-up. He's a pure athlete. If he bulked up a little, he'd be a force.

jerry west traded nick van exel for NADA

jerry west dealt elden campbell and eddie jones for glen rice

campbell and jones are exactly the (PF) and SG/SF that the lakers have been searching for EVER SINCE those two were dealt. and as we know, glen rice is the type of player that has long fallen off...

He's 6'9 6'9 1/2 but has a wingspan of 7'1. Swift has superior athlelic ability just like McDyess when he first came into the league.

Flagrant on Caseloads! You're way out of line for dissing West.

West was the one that envisioned Kobe as a potential Superstar and the Robin to Shaq's batman, when everybody else saw a skinny High School punk. And speaking of Shaq, West gave the big guy 117 mil when everybody else thought he was just a underacheiving wannabe rapper. How can you talk nasty about a guy who builds teams that go off on multiple championship runs? West is untouchable.

Nick the Quick was giving the orginazation migranes, and Elden's lazyness was undermining any championship asperations. Neither has done much since. Glen Rice helped the Lakers win their first ring, and when it was recognized that his wife's mouth was stronger then his game, the Lakers dumped him on the Knicks, an organization that loves expensive players who lack game.

Not quite true. Every GM in the league knew that the Magic went to the finals (The year Patricks finger roll missed, right?) SOLELY on the strength of young Shaq. That's why the Lakers had to pony up the 123 million. Shaq's value as a power center was unquestioned....It was just his vocabulary and acting skill that has remained in doubt even to this day...

And I agree that they'd bring Elden back if they could...
