Just found this:
Stephon Marbury told Newsday that Bobby Cremins (Georgia Tech) and Flip Saunders were the only coaches since high school who let him “do my thing.”

Asked if Isiah would give him that freedom, Steph answered, “Definitely.” Marbury added, “You don’t have somebody who couldn’t handle the ball telling you ‘Don’t do this, don’t do that.’” Think that was a shot at Larry Brown? Say what you will about his antics, but the guy played at UNC and then became the ABA's all-time assists leader.

yeah, that's it, his 9 other coaches have all been holding him back, been taking his joy away. ever since he was lonely boy at the playground people been eating at his soul. no wonder ball is just a hobby now. what a pity what the world has done to the best pg in the game.

please just get this wuss off my team.

How current is this statement from Marbury because I think this might be about 1-2mo's old.

The article is dated October 20th, 2006 but I guess he could have said that at some point a while ago

It is at least a month old. This was brought up in a different article in another forum I post at.

Marbury is a Knick, and all the old & new news is not going to change that; so what's the point in trying to drive it home????

I believe coachs get paid to coach not just roll out a ball and let every player just do his thing.
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

It's his coaches fault for not allowing him to do his thing.

It's his teammates fault for not being good enough hence the "All Alone".

It's never Marbury's fault. He's the victim in all this. He just wants to do his "thing".

I'm really glad that he finally became a man last year under Larry Brown.

Well coaches need to make exceptions especially when it comes to Shrinkbury. They have to let him do what's going to make him feel crowded at the top, instead of lonely. Including selling his shoes whenever he wants because he wears so many hats on this team and leads in so many different directions. If the article is old with Marbury using the word Definitely ......with a recent article stating Marbury will be playing off ball in this offense and sharing the wealth doesn't that make Cousinbury wrong?

This is simple.
Marbs want to be the center of attention. He wants to be a star. Or at list seleb. And he is.
If he is doing bad on the court he will have some drama running.
I think he is entertaining, can bring attension to a team, collect some charities.
I dont think the team with him on board can win anything but still can be OK financially.
Personaly I like to stay away from this type of people. They are scary and you cannot trust them.

Guys, seriously, when does it end???...When...You dig up articles that have been discussed here time and time again and act as though it's a news flash...When does it get old?...It's amazing, I have seen that article posted and discussed here before and here we go again...Good Luck and enjoy....When does the season begin!!!

Marbury hates LB and is going to take a shot at him every chance he gets. There is nothing new here. I hope he lets his hate of LB translate into better PG play and more wins for this year. In that way, we might actually get value for the $10 million we paid to LB last year.

It will all be over in less than two weeks. This season will all be on IT, Marbury, Curry, and every other key player that was brought here. I did not mind the blaming LB thing b/c IMO he did a terrible job coaching this team last year. But that is only going to last so long, these guys need to show what they can do this year. That being said, I think they will play well and make the playoffs (or at least come very close (within 1 or 2 games) to making the playoffs).
