ESPN - Sebastian Telfair is being investigated for possibily having a role in the shooting of rapper Fabolous, according to police sources who have spoken to ESPN's Jeremy Schaap.

"We're investigating whether there's a connection between the reported robbery and the shooting," New York Police Department spokesman Paul Browne told The Associated Press.

Just hours before the shooting, Telfair had a $50,000 chain ripped from his neck.

this is ****ing retarded. Why dont these rich, talented players hire security or something? Or better yet, hire someone that helps them make decisions.

EDIT: At first when I read the thread title, I thought it meant Telfair had been really hot from the field and his FG% was going to be something like 60%.

Old news. This is the reason why he didn't return second half against Knicks. Different stories but it appear that NYPD escorted him out of MSG. Stomach story was bogus by the Celtics.

First, you get mad when Stephen Jackson starts busting then you call it retarded cause NBA players don't have security to prevent them from being victims of crime.

That story had him as a witness or something, this is saying that he actually may have played a part in it.

I understand that, but something like this is huge when it comes to just the accusation. You don't think the media knows this is slander without proper evidence to print it? They know Telfair has lawyers.

This is not something personal like them saying he is messing around on his wife. We are talking about at the VERY worst could be attempted murder. I'm just saying, bro. This is not something that goes to press with just no second thought.

From what I originally heard. They said that witness stuff wasn't right. Remind you, that this isn't the first time that Telfair has this issue. He was punked at a party 2 years ago and later on there was a shooting at the party. Nothing became of that but he was talked to by his family including Marbury.

Didn't the same thing happen to Marbury back in the day? He was robbed for a HUGE chain outside a club I think? It's in a rap song too, but I forget which one..

Yup. It happened when he played for the Nets. He didn't respond with violence though. I think he was just happy to be alive. I believe Pierce got stabbed for some jewlery too.
