Long topic question.

I thought it would be cool to think about. The knicks still have jalens contract and he just looks like he is not into the game or feeling the style of play. Anyway his contract is expiring and I know that is like a nuclear missile for north Korea but it does leave the door open for a big move.

Or how bout a NBA live trade, lol? Like if you could stick a player on the knicks with your magical dual-shock controller, who would fit with the way the knicks are playing?

I think K-mart would be deadly running around in this offense, finishing off his cuts with monster dunks. KG probably would love it too cuz he could just play and not have to worry about doing everything. Carmelo would be awesome cuz his game is movement anyway. I think this type of offense might make a dude like T-Mac better, cuz T-Mac still has yet to really break out and lead. The tempo and the off the ball movement probably would make him look more interested in the game. Gasol would look awesome with the way the knicks play.

This is what I could come up with. I even think iverson would be awesome running with the knick offense.

Defense Eny. We need Defense. Look at defensive players if anything. Can't wait till Jared is back. He should clean up a lot of mess.

1. We need a reliable dead-eye shooter. Ray Allen?
2. We need a strong, dominant, no-nonsense big man. I would take KMart if assured his knee was healthy, but I'm not convinced of that.

Ray Allen and a healthy K-Mart would help.

You could get those deals done, I like Q but if they would take Q and JJ1 I would sign the deal and throw in additional cash for Kmart, he is out of the rotation that give them a backup center and small foward who will produce as much as KMart.....

You could then you Jalen and his expiring deal with Crawford/Robinson if Seattle wants to clear cap

Marbury/Franics
Allen
JJ/Balkman
KMart/Lee
Frye/Curry

Kmart would be beastly in our front court, but I just guarantee you if we trade for him he would turn into the next PHardaway. That being said I would take a chance if they would take jjfats and Q or Jalen.

Allen would be a nice pickup, but I would just hate to give up Crawford. I probably sound unrealistic but I think the kid has the potential to be an all star in the near future.

But can you imagine a healthy KMart in our frontcourt with Frye and Lee as backups? Sick.

I'd prefer someone bigger than k-mart, more along the lines of a Dalembert.

agreed... i'd only make that trade if it were for Marbury (we'd have to get a draft pick back from DEN as well obviously to compensate for the extra years on KMart's contract as well as his health issues)

i actually think Francis would blend in well on a team w/KMart... i'd have Craw running the offense, Francis playing a scoring PG role, w/Lee, Balkman, KMart running on the wings on the break when i go small... that would be 1 dynamic rotation... then you add in Nate & JJ to add that defensive energy & intensity... & when you need a score & want to slow things down, u go big w/Curry, Frye & Q... that would be a Knicks team i could really get excited about.

we owe an unprotected #1 in 2010 (marbury deal).
we owe an unprotected swap next year (curry deal).
we owe two 2nd rounders in 2007 and 2009 (curry deal).
the chances of adding significant help via the draft or the MLE are slim.
and the way our situation currently looks, we'll be over the cap till the summer of 2010 anyway.

my proposal? go ALL IN. this half assed "rebuild" attempt has us stuck in no man's land. i suggest we make a relentless push for KG. it sounds unrealistic but i think that's the best shot we have.

trade jalen + malik + frye + nate + balkman for KG + 1 of their bad contracts (jaric/hudson)

and then try to win with marbury, francis, jj, kg, and curry. if we can't get KG, then try for jermaine. if both prove to be unsuccessful, then sit back and just wait for these contracts to come off the books.

no to kmart.
no to zach randolph.
they don't do jack for us.
long term - there are 5 contracts that extend past marbury and francis - jamal, quentin, jj1, jj2, and curry. and that doesn't include extensions to the rooks. jamal, quentin and curry will be making $9+ mil each of those seasons. if we can move them for shorter deals and young players, i would look into that as well.

i am resigned to the fact that this is going to take a long time to fix and until we make that decision to dump payroll and get under the cap, we're going to be running in circles.

I'll do it. We have a decent chance at eastern conference championship with KG. I think Isiah might have to pull off something like this at the deadline. Especially if he sits on Jalen till then. I'll take a start frontline of Curry, KG and Lee anytime. Will Minny do it?

probably not. we may have to throw in chicago's 2007 pick in as well. knowing isiah, he may throw in every pick from 2007-2017.

I dont think there's much that makes sense out there.

My plan for this year would like something like:

decrease Marbury's minutes and role. Save some wear and tear on his body and get away from totally depending on him

Spoon feed Francis shots and minutes to keep him happy, and trade him for the first deal that includes an expiring deal and any draft pick or young player. There's just not a lot of options out there. Memphis maybe

Waive Jalen

I actually think Malik's presense will be positive. He's a good example in his preparation and work ethic. Maybe at somepoint we negotiate a buy out so he can return to SA as a player coach.

The hard thing to stomach is its tough to see anything but a lot of time solving some of the roster problem... namely Franbury and Big Turd.

Jamaal Magloire would be a great pickup for this team, but what would u possibly offer to get him?

forget Paul Pierce man, that's not even realistic.

I'm done with starphucking (learned that term here) and I'm patient enough to see this thing through.

But if we were to talk trade, I want to end up wtih JJ2, Frye, Curry and Crawford. And if possible, Lee and Balkman. And if we're giving me gifts, I'll take nate and a side of alley oop.

what the heck, I want jerome fishJames to stay as well.

honestly, the only thing we are waiting for is the high paid players to disappear so the kids can take the keys to the car.

Any trades should involve them.
all kool aid all the time.
