that team is desperately built around gasol--they traded away a piece battier and gasol is gone jones is way to old and shot damon stoudemire shot way to many young guys

I think you underestimate Memphis. Of course they won't be the worst team in the NBA this year. They are well-coached so that in itself, will keep them afloat until the arrival of Gasol.

I think you were just trying to create a thread. Be honest.

We really need to do a Francis for Jones trade. Even if we have to pay them $3 mill and give up a second round pick. I think Jones for Francis and $3 million would be a good deal for Memphis. We would probably lose the talent value since Francis is only 29 and still has 3-4 quality years left in him, but Jones would be the perfect two-guard for this team, and he will drop off the salary next year. With Jalen and Jones leaving, our payroll should drop down way under $100 million (a few other old salaries will drop off this year). IT can then package Malik Rose's expiring contract next summer with another player and get a starting caliber SG or let them both leave and start Q-Rich or Crawford at SG.

Why would a franchise that is restocking itself with young players want Francis? No sane manager would do it. IF Stromile Swift can play UP to his potential AND a good number of the young players play abover their heads AND Mike Miller stays healthy, without Pau , MAYBE they can squeak out 33-35 wins in the west. If not, you are looking at a 25 win team.

they lost their best player for half the season and don't have the reigning mvp to hold the team together.

I'm with Briggs, in asking the question, are they the worst.

I think they will pull it together, but without gasol, we sweep them last year.
