There really is no need to have Marbury on the floor if money is on the line.

Ouch our team really is not that good! No matter what way you want to add it up--we really didnt add an imapct type player this offseason after winning 23 games! Our impact player who jefferies? Balkman? Collins?

I have doubts about all:( and certainly they wont beleading us anywhere this year--where is our Boris Diaw? why cant we get lucky once

Whatever happened to building from within? Why can't one of our current players step up and be an impact player for us this year? You guys make it sound like we've topped out on all of our potential. Clearly we have a bunch of guys who can quite easily be an impact player.

SInce you're projecting towards the next 3 yrs then its fair to talk about the actual potential that some of our players have to improve and with a much larger and more consistent role this year be more effective. It could be Steph, Francis, Curry, Jamal, Frye or Lee. Any one or more of these guys, could have a good year this year or next. Very few of our players played at their career levels much less had a career year. Don't try to tell us that NONE of them can or will step up over the next few years.

ridiculous. subtracting Brown gives Frye, Marbury and Francis the opportunity to be the impact players they already are. Playing for Brown they couldn't be that.

We have plenty of scoring: Marbury, Francis, Curry, Frye, Crawford, Nate, we have a team that is full of long athletic guys who all rebound pretty well. defense is a question mark, but I betcha it looks better than it did last year.

and Briggs, if QRich and Jefferies were on other teams, you would be saying we didn't have any players like them. they are tough players who will help and should be in the rotation. and since when would Nate Robinson not be in the rotation? you called him a mini Wade before. now you're down on him again? take a deep breath. I would've liked Marcus, too. but after the Francis trade it made no sense. what's done is done.

maybe Balkman is our Diaw. how do you know?

a month ago you were saying you were always in favor of the Francis trade, he's a game changer who Brown never used correctly, now you're sying we don't have impact players.

I really think Balkman will find the floor. He's a great cutter, great ball handler, above average passer. He hustles. I think he'll see a lot of time at SF, Jefferies will play some PF and Frye will be the center whenever Curry isn't.

I'm hoping Balkman can fill a Shandon Anderson role within the next few years. A good athlete who can play good defense. I don't think he's to that level yet, but hopefully he will get there.

Briggs is right about us not getting any major impact players. We have to hope that the LB-negative effect hasn't been overstated on these boards, that the sophmores have matured more, that Marbury and Francis can play together, the Q is in a better mindset this season, that Curry is in better shape, that JJ can stay on the floor, that JJ2 can play some solid defense and that people don't spend time griping aboout minutes. If so, we're at least a .500 team. Any less and I don't think we are.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Eesh, already having nightmares of Balkman dribbling the ball off his foot.

Hey, Shandon was good. He knew his role, played good off the bench and added some good defense. We were missing players like that on this team. Not every player can be a star.

True. But some of them can be.
Why they are not playing for NY?

Because they wouldn't fit in NY or would suffer meltdowns. See any former so call Knick star after 73. Add to that list Yankee, Ranger, Giant or Jet stud brought in here. I come to think of NY as place where it doesn't pay to be a star but highly effective in some role. Those type of guys succeed. Would LJ in his prime be effective in NY. Mess was in late prime years when he came. O'Neil was brought in after his future stardom was plucked from him by Sweet Lou. The more I think about it guys like Balkman and Collins are the ones who actually make out in NY.
