I really can't see the advantage of Jeffries starting over Q. Jeffries can play d, but so can Q. As bad as Q played last year on offense, Jeffrie's offensive game is like that the majority of times throughout his career.

It should be a good competition and I hope IT plays the guy who actually deserves to start. I think Jeffries brings more passing and defense than Q. However, if Q has fixed whatever was wrong with his jumpshot last year, he definitely should be starting over Jeffries. If Q is hitting his shots, that would go a long way to opening things up for Curry and Fyre.

Q's Back for starters. Jeffries defensive prowess to support that. Regardless, I don't think starting is as important in an offense like this. It is more important to make the rotation.

At SF? what about Lee? Perfect rebounding compliment for Curry & Frye and he can finish any pass from Marbury or Franchise.

I think Jefferies versatility will give him the nod. Besides, Isaih didn't bring him here to come off the bench. I think Q's limititations are that he is 2/3 and we are well stocked at the 2. Also he is a 2 without a strong handle I think that is a strike against him. Don't forget that Jalen will need some playing time as well.

I could see Jeffries and Q alternating at times as to who starts- depending on matchups.

Q is a poor passer and has a terrible handle. Jared is a smart passer and has a good handle. His length also makes him an additional shot blocking threat. Even if he doesn't actually block the shot that's another long player out there defending. Q can be a much better scorer and he's improved defensively. They both rebound about the same.

Unless Q simply outplays Jared I would think Isiah will keep Q coming off the bench. Q's back is really going to be a big factor as well. He has to stay healthy if he wants to try and get back into the starting lineup.

You dont have to put ALL your best players in the starting lineup. You need to balance it out. I think Q and JC fit in well with the second unit.

With Marbury, Francis, Eddy AND Frye all in the 1st unit, you dont need to worry about Jefferies' offense.

If Frye/Curry is starting I rather have Q in their for his rebounding. Jeffries is not a good rebounder but he's perfect for a 2nd unit of frye, craw & nate

What about Steph, Steve, QRich, Jeffries at 4 , Curry with Frye backing up curry/jeffries? Not enough rebonding?

Jeffies is an energy guy and not a lock down defender, there is a difference...He increases the defensive intensity of a team because he is all over the place...He is not a great one on one defender...He hustles after loose balls and is not a well coordinated guy...Calling him super Ariza is a bit of a stretch... Ariza plays the passing lane very well...Jeffries in not a steal guy or a shot blocker..Q is a better man defender on the blocks because he is stronger...For his length, Jeffries is not a shot blocker which is suprising...When all is said an done Balkman will be the defender we are looking for..Balkman won't get much minutes initally because he is a rook...Late in the season, I see Balkman and Q sharing minutes at the 3...Balkman showed me alot in Vegas...He is an intangible guy that deosn't need to ball to be effective...Stronger than Jeffires and is involved in every play for a loose ball it seems....Jeffries will help but I think people here are getting right about Jeffries....He won't be the difference maker on the court defensively that people here seems to think...

Yeah I still don't think theres enough rebounding. Frye is a better rebounder than Jeffries is. If your going to take Frye out for anyone, it's gotta be Lee.

Guys, I know when you look at Jared's stats, it might make you scratch your head as to why Isiah signed this guy, but the guy is a gritty player and he will get his points when in the right offense(which Isiah is implamenting.) Jeffries was a very good player at Indiana in college, he was very good on both ends of the court. Isiah is bringing in the same type of offense that they run in Indiana and Jared is going to see his production go up becuase of that. The offense is based on alot of movement and thats where Jared is at his best, he'll get alot of garbage points from tip-ins, he'll get points from slashing down right near the hoop and he'll get his fair share of dunks. Couple that with his VERY GOOD man-man defense and since there will be alot of movement in the offense, his rebounding will rise as well. Jared came to a VERY good situation for him and I think you will all be pleasantly surprised by his output once the season starts.

From what I have read with the claim of 6'11" trees as the front court, I see Curry, Frye, Jeffries, Francis and Blubbury as the starting five. Not bad. I see a collectively good rebounding team instead of the one rebounding stud like Oakley and Rodman. Rebounds should come from Frye, Jeffries and Francis. Boobury is also a pretty good rebounding PG. The sad part is that our center is a weak defensive rebounder.
