Does anyone know what Q does in the offseason? He commented that Curry seemed to take this offseason more seriously than in the past but did not endorse what he did. I know that he was an LB guy last year, wanted to fight Marbury, and helped Curry finish his sprints. Could Q be the new LJ? An injured player who no longer is capable of being a superstar but now gets it and can communicate what is neccessary to win to teammates? A guy who gives his all all the time. I hope Isiah recognizes his strong character and doesn't reject him because of Marbury and an allegiance to LB.

Don't you have to be one of the biggest contributors on the court too? Right now, Q could be fighting for minutes.

I think Q, if he sticks around, Lee, Fyre and Crawford are going to be the real leaders of this team. Marbury is the de facto leader because he is the PG and right now is still the best player, but I like what I see from Q, Lee, and Crawford and I think Fyre can be a leader also. Those four seem to care the most about the team and about winning and playing (as LB would put it) the right way. We just need to get rid of Francis, J. Rose, and JJ1 and this team will be filled with quality players both in talent and in attitude. I excluded Marbury b/c I think if he is surrounded by positive people and good players, he can be an effective PG.

There are reports that Q's attitude was horrible last year, which is understandable to an extent givien his real life tragedy, but I think its a huge leap for him to become a leader ala LJ.

LJ could have been one of the 50 greats. Q could have been a good player. Q right now, basically is a body out on the floor. He's not particularly good on d or o. He's young, hasnt won, was an LB guy in a year when most guys weren't. Where does his credibility to lead come from? Typically it comes from championships, exceptional talent, veteran status, or your personality. Right now, personality seems to be his only chance at leadership and I don't see enough to say that.

If Q could be healthy and contribute with a starters production the he is definately captain material. Like someone already said here, he will be fighting for minutes.

I think every knick fan is hoping to get a badass again like starks, mase, lj, X-man, Harper even childs. I want that too but you are seriously smoking some crack if you think Q of all people can take on that role now. Q was a MAJOR reason the knicks lost last year. It makes me angry that Q is so well liked when his production was waaaay down last year. Q is also one of my favorite players but that was when he was healthy.

Bottom line if Q can be healthy then we got ourself a knick. Until that happens he is sitting next to Jerome James as one of the biggest losers the knicks have.

Is he a bigger loser than pretty much every other Knicks? I think it's pretty safe to say NO. If it weren't for his bad back, he'd still be in Phoenix.

Q plays hard and wants to win no matter what. I am not going to hate a guy b/c he is injured. All I ask is that you give 110% everytime you walk out on the court. I think Q did that. Now if his back is still messed up and his shot is still off, he needs to play a reduced role, but I still think he can be a leader on this team because of his attitude. We need guys that are not going to back down and who are going to fight every second of every game.

Q's had quite a week on the Ulties board - he's gone from bum, to guy who wanted to fight Marbury, to possible starter to team captain.

I just hope he's healthy. If he's healthy he should be in the 9-man rotation.

Knicks need guys that will fight and be tough and get mad and yes, kick marbury or anyone elses ass that thinks they are bigger that the team.

Let me tell you something, I can do that. What the knicks need from Q is to hit a open jumpshot! I admire the type of player Q is but he did not produce last year. He still has a chance to prove off of last years cursed season but just like people dig marbs and the rest Q must get the same treatment. Q absolutely sucked last year. You guys are insane if you think he did anything well. He was terrible. Couldn't hit an open jumper to save his life. He definately got his share of open jumpers so he had opportunity.

Enough of this till he can prove it on the court. Just like every other player.
