Discussed in the papers today. I actually like half the idea. The offensive side of the ball. It would be hard to ask Spree to guard point guards night in/out. Houstons ball handling skills seem to have really come along to a reasonable level for the position.

my only thing is that Houston absolutely sucks as a PG. He makes bad decisions with the ball, can't pass worth a lick and, when pressured, can't dribble. Besides those things, he would he an OK PG.

you basically said, besides not being able to play the point AT ALL, if houston got:

a) PG speed
b) PG intelligence and decision making
c) PG poise and passing ability
d) PG handles
e) all of the above

e) all of the above, then houston would be OK playing the point.

Maybe the Knicks, in an effort to be entertaining AND tank games, should play Travis Knight at the point and Eisley at center, Houston at PF, Thomas at SG and, get this, Sprewell at SF. Oh wait ....

I'd like at least give the big backcourt lineup a try. All three are are powerful offensive threats, each having a different kind of game. Sprewell will be happy because he can finally play the 2 again. There will be mismatches at C(a given), and PG. The only bad thing is, who is coming off the bench? Eisley, Anderson, and Harrington? Thats a pretty weak bench. While our starting lineup looks good (xcept for Spoon), our bench gets worse(if that was possible).

starters bench
c-Thomas c-doleac,knight
pf-spoon pf-harrington
sf-nailon sf-anderson
sg-spree sg-eisley
pg-houston pg-ward,williams

If we go with this lineup, our only spark off the bench would be ward. Hopefully we can increase our bench by using our medical exception.

It was thought, Case. Houston looks alot more comfortable bringing the ball up the court this year. I'd rather them take a shot at developing the big backcourt and mismatches. Give Frank Williams some meaningfut minutes who after Tuesday, than spend more time trying to get blood from a stone with Eisley. If it fails, which it most likely will, their was nothing at stake except improving there shots at Lebron.

Whoa, I really butchered that Frank Williams sentence. What I meant was... After Tuesday's game Williams doesn't fit any of the criteria you gave... so hey lets not play him at point either. Sometimes you have to develope talent, the knicks have time to do that this year.
