he's sounds like a smart kid. I'd still take Frye over him, but I don't know about Eddy.

He only took four weeks off for summer? That's 1/3 of the season! He sounds like another Curry.
I'll never trust this' team again.

i'm one of those that believe rookies almost always come back the next year stronger and better and more polished than their rookie campaigns.

I expect bynum to take a big step forward and briggs will eventually be vindicated that he was valuable, however, I'm also expecting frye to be even better than his rookie run.

Also, Nate and Lee.

Curry, IMHO, is the last piece to the puzzle.

If he is doing what bynum is doing...

I'm sure he's got the vacation part down!

Well, here's the latest on Kwame Brown:
http://www.insidesocal.com/lakers/2006/09/kwame_brown_interview.html

He's in contention for the starting center spot. At the end of the year, Jackson gave him a card that said, "15-10"... those are what he feels are achievable for Kwame this season.

Let's hope not! That will be just one more monster we'll have to deal with for years to come.

technomaster, thanks for both articles. the kwame brown article sets the standard for player/coach relationship. the type of relationship and leadership that was missing in new york from you know who:
Q: Have you seen Phil at all?

A: You know how Phil is. He’s a funny dude. I didn’t know he was that funny for a guy that smart. He comes in and he plays with you, jokes in a quiet way. A funny dude.

Q: Laron Profit gave Phil a lot of credit for how he approached coaching you last season.

A: I think because he knew my history, and I’d had so much negatitivity that he never made anything a negative. Even when I was playing bad, he could have went in the papers and said anything because my game was reflecting basically nothing.

Even when the coaches said to me, `Maybe we’re playing you out of position,’ he was still positive in saying, `Just come in and give me what you can and play defense.’ He broke down the game in segments for me.

`If you don’t feel comfortable scoring and doing all that, then run the court and get rebounds. Once you start doing that, let’s take another step.’

He broke the game down for me and I think that helped. Even when I was getting down on myself, he said, `You know what, don’t worry about it. It takes some guys three to six months to learn this offense.’

I’m like, `Wow, he’s still not killing me.’ It was crazy to see that approach. Most coaches, they can’t do that. This is a business. It would have been easy for him to say, `We’ve got this guy, he ain’t doing (anything), and that would have been it.’

That’s the true meaning of a coach, when he can lift a player up. I’m not saying everybody should do that, but some guys need different stuff.

Yep, it sounds like uncle Phil isn't such an evil guy after all.

I think Kwame can develop into a 15-10 guy with the proper playing time... he's got the body and athleticism to get it done on the rebounding end. Coming out of high school, he had that sweet jumper from the free throw line area, at least... that's what the scouts said.

He may not have the proper brain type to become a superstar level performing the NBA, but his career seems like it might be back on the right track to borderline all-star status.

Yall have ripped Briggs about Bynum so much that he's terrified to post concerning his Idol.
