What a quiet summer! Not just for our Knicks, but for the whole league!
No block buster trades, not much of anything since the draft.
What's going on? Any theories?

Personally, I think the teams around the league are changing their tune
about paying out as much salary as they have been as late, and everybody's
trying to retrench their payrolls. Not sure if that is the reason,
but maybe it's stifling the trading a bit...

seriously nothing to talk about these days... the Word Association & Knick player elimination threads are the hottest things going on this site at this point.

not even a rumor to talk about concerning this team... i've never been so disinterested in the Knicks... hopefully things will pick up once the regular season games begin.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

The problem is that just about every team is capped out and afraid of the luxury tax and the only players anyone wants to trade right now have bad contracts no one else wants to take on. Plus, both Philly and Minn decided not to trade Iverson and Garnett respectively, which would have generated alot of movement if those trades went down. Factor in the fact that the Knicks have decided not to make any major moves and the end result is a very slow summer.
Trust the Process

I think teams are just getting tired of paying guys money and tired of trying to trade for the big name and still end up losing when teams like Memphis, san Antonio, Detroit, and Miami are wining by just being patient and savy.

Its all good. I think isiah tried to win now but now even though the payroll is bonkers, the knicks future is still intact.

Can't wait till we can stop dreaming and start seeing the game in reality.

Yes the days of overspending for "franchise" talent is over. The NBa game suffered for a while because they kept giving contracts to players that hadn't earned them yet. Now the league has figured it out. This is slowly raising the level of ball as guys now realize they have to win to get paid. It took a while for the Knicks to figure it out, but thanks to some honest talk from the media and the fans they are finally starting to realize this and making changes. Knock on wood.

Marbury getting $22mm per pretty much proved how stupid GM/owners can be

Yeah it was HOuston before with his contract. We have a million bad contracts on our books. They were all silly.
