They don't need any distratcions, and this is going to turn into a fiasco. Pro players who have had ankle surgeries/knee problems who make 20mm per shouldnt even come near some hybrids and the focus of the season is going to be his darn shoes. Let's see if IT can clean the shop up.

StarburyGate?

I don't know the sneaker game but I'd suspect they have special ones made just for them that look like the street versions.

Those 20million dollar ankles on 15 buck kicks is not a smart thing. Starbury can have some special hand made jobs sewn together.

Of course the insides of the ones Steph will wear are gonna have special orthotics and support systems. Most pros have special supports made for their needs. We know its not gonna be an off the shelf model. If he hurts himself its most likely gonna be a fluke thing that could happen no matter what he's wearing.

I mean even we don't wear shoes that don't feel right to us. I'm sure he's already had them make the sneakers just the way he needs them.

Comon
This is America
Do you really still believe in Commercial spines?
This is all bull.
The sneakers which will go into the shops will be made in China in the same shop with Nike/Addidas/Puma/Whatever.
And this is nothing to do with what the NBA players are using.
Most of the consumers are so naive. But they make the US economy roll...

The funny thing is when people call these $15 "charity". I have news for you folks. Marbury is not giving these sneakers away. Nor is he selling them at cost. He is being paid to put his name on them. That is not charity. Charity is when you give money or products to people. Not when you make money off the products sales as profit. If this was charity his company would be a non profit company.
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

Yeah, Marbury is the most charitable NBA player. Sure.

One thing he is good at is always having a camera crew around when he's doing these charitable things.

Not true. He does a lot for Coney Islands hosting basketball tournaments and keeping kids busy with sports instead of drugs. He also sponsors a couple of scholarships. He really doesnt do this for camera time. He can do that pretty easily by saying dumb things, eg: I'm the best PG in the NBA. The guy might not be a noble person or a good leader for a bball team but he does good things for his community.

To give on charity you need to earn money.
By playing ball, making comercials, whatever...
He will make money by selling the sneakers and then will give it (some part of it) to the community.
The real charity coming from people who will by the sneakers to make Murbary earn money to give it to comunity. From us regular consumers. Isn't it cool how it works..?

If you are talking about other NBA players no need to look farther Matumbo. He is not selling the sneakers. He is taking his money earn by playing bball and bulding the hospital for pure people in his country. This IS a charity.

Let's keep the Marbury bashing within the realm of pro basketball shall we. If Marbury does charity it's for his own personal gain NEWSFLASH it's not a crime and also that is your opinion. He has helped many and does alot more than some of the uber rich people on this little planet of ours. So let the man do his thing, him selling sneakers isn't hurting anyone.

Briggs, i think you are forgetting that these guys are professionals. They are not toddlers.

And besides, if you think the only "distractions" these players deal with are some gym shoes then you are ...well, nevermind.

Hell, Marbury himself, is a distraction.

Well, off or on camera he's done more charity than most here would do in several lifetimes. It's amazing that anything he does gets spun into something sinister by alot of the folks here.

You really don't have to spin blowing off a wheelchair charity event so you can go hawk some more cheap sneakers into a negative thing. It pretty much speaks for itself.

Hey man, I think his charity work is admirable (Sure helps to have his money though) but I also don't even care anymore. If he continues to be a byatch with the Knicks then I say he's out of here.

I honestly could care less what Marbury does off the court.

I only care about what he does on a basketball court.

You Marbury bashers are really ridiculous. I mean I understand not liking a person but you all are way off. You have no idea why he missed the basket tournament. Absolutely none. But you immediately assume that it's for a negative reason/becuase he didn't care or he wanted to blow it off. That is so judgemental. And to say that Marbury isn't doing something positive becuase he's not giving his sneakers away as oppose to selling them for 15 dollars is nuts. You people are crazy. Marbury is a business man. Period end of story. He's in business just like any other person. Forget the fact that no one else (NY player) has done anything like that (in recent history) - selling sneakers so cheaply to benefit kids who can't afford the top name brands - but becuase it's Marbury, it can't be seen as a good dead. Don't get me wrong, I don't love Marbury as a basketball player either. But the way you all are so ready to jump on anything this guy does and twist and turn it into something evil is really sad. Why can't his positive contributions be seen just as that. Bash his play on the court all day long...we can debate that but debating when someone and how someone decides to give back and donate to their community is really shameful. There are so many affluent people who don't care and don't donate why would critize the one's who do?
NY KNICKS 4 EVER! Will we ever find players like Anthony Mason, Xavier McDaniels, Patrick Ewing again? I hope so.

lovespree, How long have you been living on planet Earth.

see, on this planet when you are positive you are considered negative and when you are negative, you are considered positive.
