Denver Post - Just five of Denver's 14 players under contract are guards, so they are expected to fill the final roster spot with a shooting guard, ideally one with 3-point range.
Re-signing DerMarr Johnson remains a possibility.

this trade is horrible for denver, jr smith > qrich
Let's not go overboard on this. As of now, Q's worst season is comparable to Smith's best season. (Smith 10.3 points, 2 rebounds, compared to Q who had 8.2 points, 4.2 boards and shot better in 3 pt% and about equal in FT%, while Smith beat him out in FG%). Smith has potential, but to say he is better than Q right now, especially after the regression he showed this year-which can be written off partially on Scott, but still, Smith couldn't do something to get on the floor?-where as Q has had one bad season after a few solid seasons. We all know Q is not as bad as he showed last year.
