No I wasnt dreaming. Yes I know they never played as Knicks together but they did play together in the 1991 ALL Star game. What a great sight. I wish they could have played 5 years together. What a waste. You know that era was so special. Watching the All star game reminded me of that. Bird, Magic, Jordan, Patrick, Barkley, Mullin, Dominque, Isiah, Mchale, Malone, etc etc. That was probably the best era ever in the NBA. Todays NBA cant compare. They knew how to play team ball. It wasnt all 3 point chucks, free throws and dunks back then.
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

How old are you?

We all think the prevous era was better.

The skills are less but more athletic today.

NBA fundamentals have eroded for 30 years.

I'm 39. I dont think the previous era was better in hockey, football or baseball but no doubt in my mind the 1980's to early 90's were much better at team basketball. Look at the original dream team from that era. all played team bbball.Almost all of them were smart players who could pass and play a team game. The NBA now has too much playground 1 on 1 flash in it. Also look at how many of the NBA's top 50 players came from that era. I mean Isiah Thomas a hall of famer and top 50 all timer coundlt make the dream team. I'm not sure if Mchale did either. Could you see Kirk Heinrich on that dream team. Sure they had John Stockton. Thats a huge difference over Kirk Heinrich.

Yeah, I saw that as well. King looked pretty good in that All-Star game. He probably would have looked even better if they passed him the ball.

You know who else I saw that made me realized how complete this dude was--Kevin Johnson.

I was looking for Isiah Thomas, but I never saw him.

KJ was very good. In todays era he would stand out more than he did back then. There were just so many great players back then.

Yeah, KJ was a very solid point guard. Knew when to pass, and shoot. Solid defender.

Had the smarts to go with heart.

K.J. is one of my all-time favorite players. He was not like a Jordan or Magic in that basketball was not his main passion, it was more like just a job to him. But he played at a high level and made himself the best he could be simply because of his work ethic and desire to fulfill his obligations as an NBA player. That guy was the ultimate team player and "quiet" leader.

Oh, it was like a job to him. Whew. For a minute there, I thought he actually had a love for the game.

Silly me.
