Chaney is a fool. anyone see the boxscores of the today's game and see how many minutes our players logged? most of the starters got over 40 minutes... some got 50 or near 50. what an idiot.

The team is going to get a slew of injuries soon.

what i dont understand is why frank williams didnt log many minutes.. its not like we are a contending team, we might as well develop our young guys. truly pathetic that williams got only 3 minutes with ward out..

And we needed a point guard after Eisley fouled out!

McDYess Was logging too many minutes during preseason.. Now watch our starters get injured by playing too many minutes.. i totally agree!

I also agree...

'rookie tightness' wouldn't exist for long if the rookie got a chance to get loose. It's worth losing a few to get the man comfortable....and Postell while you're at it.

Too many minutes, that way too stupid. Whe you practice 12 hours a week. Work out 10 hours a week. 10min aint gonna kill ya. Byron Scot comment was taken out of context. The only reason you dont give player alot of minutes in preseason is becasue the games dont count + alot of player dont work hard in the offseason and arent in shape and could hurt themselves. That had nothing to do with McDyess.

umm, first of all, houston is now injured. secondly, going that many minutes at a high intensity without alot of breathers (or water) is just plain silly.

Clearly Allan Houston is much more of an effecient player at 36-37 mts. His shooting % is now down to 40%. When spree comes back--we need to cut into Andersens 38 mts and spoon 30 by getting spree and nailon 30-35 mts.

the proper allocation
Thomas-35 mts
Spoon 20 mts
sprewell 36 mts
houston 36 mts
ward 30 mts
nailon 30 mts
andersen 20 mts
eisley 18 mts
Doleac /harrington 15 mts

Please....it has been obvoius that the Knicks (especially Houston) have tired in the fourth quarter. That 10 minutes of rest would help them out.

a few things

having fwill and t.knight on the floor together was frightening. i can dig your 'trial by fire' attitude on getting fwill in the game while it was on the line but he certainly didn't do anything in his brief stint on the floor in the first half. a couple of bad passes and some terrible defense, generally looking lost. i'd like to know where his confidence would be if he cost them the game down the stretch. chaney was right for not subjecting him to that now. later in the season, sure let him go, but not now. not when you have the chance to beat one of the top 2-3 teams in the east.

on the minutes per game issue - some nights you're gonna have to go 48. especially if you are paid like you can go 48. what i think is another important issue about chaney's coaching is the rotation of players to keep some legs fresh in the final 6 minutes or so. alan houston is always a big first half performer, he scores quickly out of the gate. chaney needs to get him rest in the late third/early fourth to keep the houston fresh for big shots down the stretch. i don't think he's done that yet because chaney feels he must keep houston on the floor to have a proven scorer out there. there needs to be confidence in other players 'shanderson' and nailon to hold down the fort and make plays while houston takes a rest but i don't think that trust is there yet. maybe it's growing as shanderson and nailon continue to step up but it's still early in the season.

comparing the byron scott comment to this is like comparing apples to oranges.

right now we're bad on many levels
