Thought about this a little since it came out a couple of weeks ago and I think it would be a good move. I know he's got rediculous money coming to him but his contract runs out in only 2 more seasons plus he did put up 20 & 10 last year. He wouldn't stunt the growth and development of guys like Frye, Jeffries or Lee that much since we'd let him walk in only 2 years. Plus it would finally give us the opportunity to jettison some of our expendable parts like Q-Rich, Taylor, Malik Rose, Jerome James or maybe Jalen Rose. If it even took a nice chip in the deal (excluding Frye or Lee) such as Nate, Balkman or Collins to make it work I'd have to really consider it.
It would give us the opportunity to clean up this roster (opening up a spot to bring back Qyntel Woods for reasonable money) and would allow us to get rid of 1 or 2 longterm big money deals in the process (Jerome James, Q-Rich). Anyone else think I'm nuts on this? Lets bring this guy here! Anyone know exactly what Phily was asking for???
I would be willing to give up Collins in a trade for c-Webb. He is a Philly native so that would be good for both team and player. I'd ship jalen and Collins but I dunno if that works at the moment. That dude king probably wants frye. I would be hesitant to throw frye away for the often injured and old webber but they would have to stick carney in there. That dude is an athletic freak.
I also still feel very strongly about avoiding any dealings with Philly or Boston for that matter. I hate both franchises. Indiana is another one unless the knicks were gonna get Stephen Jackson.
