I'm just looking at how its becoming widely known that American ball players can play overseas and make top dollar in compeditive leagues. You might say its not a big deal but guys nowadays hire agents and they in turn keep their names in the professional loops and keep these guys playing pro well into their 30's.
Growing up I heard of guys playing in Europe but it wasn't something a lot of guys thought about. Guys were like damn I'm like 23 now I gotta get a job and the dream is dead. Now a lot of college players and even no name guys from division 3 or junior colleges are ending up playing pro year round. Making good money.
The whole streetball thing is not a gimic. These guys are getting recognized by European team, Asian teams, austrailian teams, middle eastern teams. These same players had the doors shut on them by the NBA.
There are a lot of traveling teams that are making nice money too just challenging teams in the world to games like the globtrotters used to do and still do. And 1 brought that back but everyone is doing it now.
My point is basketball players now have a global forum and you don't have to go to a big college or get drafted by the NBA to make decent money playing ball. Guys are getting hip to it. The American leagues have also been silently blossoming. The usbl, and aba to name a few. Lots of guys you remember from college or your local play grounds are in these leagues living middle class lives.
Another alarm I want to sound off here. Lebron James is learning Chinese. Wouldn't it be bugged out if lebron signs with a Chinese club once his NBA contract is up? That would be bugged out but why not?
