Really how good do you think these two will be? Do you think they are going to be the punchline of a joke or be real ballers?

More along the lines of "Ehh, whatever, nothing special." I wasn't really in love with either of them in Summer league. I was more impressed with that other backup PG actually. They'll be OK down the road I think though. The one thing Balkman has going for him is his ability to handle the ball and his court vision so that's a real good thing, but his athleticism can only take him so far if he's a 6'6" small foward who can't shoot.

I doubt collins sees the light of day. Developing league fodder. Balkman will sit.

This unless we do some trades that open spots.

Yeah, you're probably right. Maybe Collins can turn out to be someone like Kevin Ollie or Eddie House, if he works hard enough.

The whole point of these guys was to add role players to the roster. They don't have to have a big part to play this season, but in the future they could become useful bench players for this team. Once we move out Jalen and QRich they'll be more involved. If we ever move Francis Collins could be a useful bench player to give us more size at guard.

Kenny 'Sky' Walker is the punchline to what joke?

If they don't become something decent, they will be trivia questions that few on this board will remember in 5 to 10 years time...

Balkman is a jumpshot away from being a really good player. He has good instincts, can handle the rock, moves without the ball, plays with high energy, rebounds, and likes to play defense. Plus, he knows how to finish around the basket. The main things he needs to work on are his jumpshot and free throws. IF he can improve SIGNIFICANTLY in those two areas, he will be IMO, at least, as good as Jefferies, if not better.

Collins looks to be a good defender and a heady player. He has a nice cross-over and can get into the paint. He also needs to work on his outside shooting.

Both of these guys have the tools to be good players in this league. Collins has the potential to be a bigger and likely better version of Eric Snow. Balkman has the potential to become a smaller version of Jefferies (but I think he will be a better finisher than Jefferies). It is really up to how hard these guys work on their games.

This is why having D-League teams would help, I know we want the guys with the team, but they are better off getting a little work in.....

I would have Balkman just shooting j's all day long

I have never seen either play a minute so I have no opinion even though I'm sure you guys have been waiting with baited breath to find out my thoughts. Sorry guys.
I just hope that people will like me

Balkman is definately a jumpshot away from being a good player. Not just a spot up guy but an off the dribble shooter. He would be awesome. He's a very good player. I think the dude can max out at Josh howards level. Let's hope for the best. I'm rooting for the guy.

Collins to me is definately not a point guard. He reminds me of Hubert davis a little. Definately Aaron mckie. He also has a shot to be a nice player. His whole thing is gonna have to be how hard he attacks. He kinda has the frank Williams syndrome going for him.
