What I expect.

My opinion is that we deserve to have extremely high expectations compounded due to last year's huge disappointment.
This season felt like the one before, only suddenly the entire country was laughing at us this time. Even canada. :)

It's HUGE year or failure for me...everyone on the team should be well aware of that. I'm talking walk out...I want to see the knicks on sportscenter every night for the right reasons...I want winning streaks as big as 10 before the all star break and I expect Isiah to be coaching the all star game this year.

That's what i expect...I'm rooting for this because I also want this to be the case.

I'm asking that everyone on the team give us their best year to date. I want zeke coaching the all star game (he has), I want marbury in the all star game (he's been there), I want curry putting up huge games and when he is over matched that's when frye AND lee explode in tandem...running the floor and taking turns dunking the hell out of the ball and screaming to the crowd.

I'm expecting the same number of game winners from crawford and nate as last year.

I expect Franchise returns to the all star game AND is traded immediately before or after the game.

I hear defense being chanted BIG TIME at the game and we all have our favorite player in our Lee-FENSE unit.

I'm not saying this is what's going to happen, and I'm not looking to lower anybody's expectations, but if they don't do what I'm expecting to happen...

I'll be broken.

Rvhoss: We are all hoping for these wonderful things. But it's not on us. It's on the players. We were disappointed last year because EVERYONE ASSOCIATED WITH OUR ORGANIZATION quit on us!!!!! We as fans allowed it and blamed it all on Brown. I am not so forgiving. Brown is gone the excuses are gone. For me, Marbs doesn't have to make the all-star game. Curry does not have to dominate the middle. Frye, Lee and Robinson don't have to show me amazing improvement. And Isiah doesn't have to coach the all-star game. The only thing I want this year is the one thing I demanded last year, is the one thing people on this site yelled at me for demanding last year, is the one thing too many people made excuses for last year. The only thing I want this year is for this team to PLAY HARD EVERY NIGHT REGARDLESS OF THE CIRCUMSTANCES.

The only thing I want from the fans is for them to STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR THE PLAYERS. Stop settling for half ass effort

Sounds to me like we're settling. Shouldn't the effort be there no matter what? I remember when we were good the Knicks played hard no matter what, we didn't even think of it, and people would say "Playing hard is not enough. Knicks have to play good." and that was usually the case.

Obviously they did make excuses and didn't play hard all the time. But that's why we should get rid of those guys and get players that wont make it an issue so we can start focusing on becoming a good basketball team again.

Remember the year with Xman and Jnew and Patrick. That team was not very talented. We won games because they came to play every night. No excuses. Why? Because their leader played hard every night. And when we lost he didn't say it's because he didn't have other players around him. He said "we" need to be better. He said "I" just didn't get it done. Fans roasted him for that.

Now we have a leader that says he's the best and blames everyone else when we lose. We have a team that gives half arse effort and has the nerve to blame someone else for not playing ahrd. And what do we fans do? Do we roast them like we roasted Patrick when he was playing his arse off? Most of us do. But there are some I guess they are what we call "real fans" that are perfectly okay with our team not playing hard as long as their excuse makes sense.

as the season begins to draw near, I'm less hoping for effort and flat out expecting it.

Parcell's railed against the Cowboy team this week...T.O. suddenly is practicing, and he stated that he wanted there to be no question about who the leader is.

I expect the same.

it's not about hoping they do well...I expect nothing less...but this year there will be accountability.

That's all I'm saying.

the half arse effort to me was all everyone having their own agendas...we all saw it and everyone is bearing the brunt of it...but this year is completely different as every possession, every smirk every mistake (which is always followed closely by the knowledgeable knick fans) will now be followed closely by EVERYONE.

It's gonna be a crazy crazy year!

I agree 100%.

That should be the motto for this year.

I'm with you. Allanfan's with you. Most of the board is with you. Now we have to hope that the players are with you as well. It's all on them. This could be an amazing turnaround and the players will get an amazing boost to their credibility that no PR firm could hope to produce. It's all on them.

absolutely!

It's been a great UK off season, everyone seems to have gotten the finger pointing out of the way and just held up their hands and pointed to everyone.

I just need a couple more facts to trickle in and I'll be more confident in the coming season:

What's the physical condition of our Centers? JJ and Curry...are they in shape? Has anybody heard anything?

Who is the odd man out in the back court? Is Nate going to take it on the chin? Will Franchise be moved?

Who is our starting 3 and what is the depth chart looking like there? Is QRich gone? What about QWoods?

These to me are the remaining big three questions.

All those questions are obviously huge. Curry being in shape may be the largest one(pun intended). If he comes into this camp out of shape he's basically telling you, me and everyone else that he will never be in shape and really doesn't care. At that point it will be official that it was a bad trade. If he comes in hungry than there is once again hope, because like it or not, he is the key to our future and is currently flying under the radar in the finger pointing.

To me question number 2 is equally as important. Between Jamal, Steph, Stevie, Nate, Q you have 5 guys that no matter how they performed last year have proven that they deserve time based on career production. They are all right in feelign they deserve to start or be in the rotation. Nobody is a step above anyone else in helping us win games. So the chemistry issue will be huge. Will the "losers" continue to fight hard to earn time or will they biotch and moan about inconsistent playing time and not knowing their roles. By saying it was okay to do that last year we have set ourselves up for these players to do it again. That will make or break our season. If Isiah can clear the fat, or get through to these guys about our situation and they buy into it then we have a very deep team and it will only be a strength. But if these guys whine about time etc it has the potential to implode. Isiah will lose his job and once again we will have to start over. Chemistry for us is everything.

if curry comes into camp out of shape, it may go down as one of the worst trades ever.

I agree...the only message the knick organization has sent to the players so far is that last year was not their fault.

There are no excuses this year...damn, I wish it was camp time...when does that start again.
