Been reading the board for years now and figured it was time to get in the game! Its been a dissapionting few years but i'm optimistic about whats to come up!

First off we will be a .500% team this year at WORST!

NO TRADES until trade deadline! Let's see what we have here!

Okay, I know we have a logjam at just about every position but let's let the guys come in hungry and play who deserves to play! Make'em earn it! What happened last year was ridiculous! 42 different starting lineups! I know Larry just had the attitude that we were not winning it all last year so he wanted to see what we had. He wanted to see who would buy into his system and who wouldn't. Then he was going to make a run at it. Well he never got that chance. None of us know for sure what happened behind the scenes but what's done is done! I do think the team would have done a lot better this year with Larry or whoever was coach but I am glad its in Isiah's hands now. This way just in case we do totally blow we get rid of him and start from scratch. But like I said I believe this team is a .500% minimum!

Why not make any more moves until at least the tradeline?

well first off just about every player on this teams trade value is at and all time low!
Except maybe David Lee And Channing Frye. And were not trading them!

I want to see if Stevie Franchise and Stephon can coexist! I am not sure how they will be on either end together but I want to see! You can not judge from last year at all! I'm concerned more so on the defensive end but the signing of Jeffries helps a little.

Trading Q? He is the only real 2 guard on the team! We need him to come off the bench and knock down some 3's. He's tough as nails. I know he was horrible last year on the offensive end but i'm hoping all the problems he had was part of the cause. And again his trade value is low with his back and all. I think he could develop into a great 6th or 7 man and if Steve and Steph can't co-exist he starts at the 2 for us!

So we go into camp with what we have! I believe Eddy Curry is the X factor! I hope to God he is in shape and ready to perform! Isiah seems to have the knack for developing young big's! Hopefully he gets through to Eddy!

Now I see the starting lineup being

C Curry 32-36min
F Frye 32-36min
F Jeffries 28-34min
G Francis 28-34min
G Marbury 32-36min

Now depending on the match ups maybe throw Q in for a start here and there!
Now first 3 of the Bench should be
Q Richardson 15-18min can play 2 0r 3
D Lee 15-18min can play 3 or 4 and in some instance 5(if we go real small) Phoenix Style
J Crawford 15-18min can play 1 or 2
Not in any particular order!

Then we have
J rose can play 1, 2, or 3! I do not think he is done yet! I hope he doesn't complain about playing only 10-12min at most! Unless he gets hot then we give'em a little more time.
J James depending on match ups 10 minutes to pick up 6 fouls on Shaq, Biq Z(cavs), Dampier, and anybody else with size. Other than that he doesn't play.
Nate a quick energy burst of the bench! 5-10min when needed! I kinda see him as the odd man out here!

Taylor 12th man only gets in if there's foul trouble or insurance in case of an injury. If Eddy gets hurt we might need his post game!

M Rose Good man! Good Cheerleader on the bench. Won't complain.
M Collins Good defender in practice against Stevie and Steph. Get Better for next year! Also can play 3 positions if any we have any injury problems
Balkman Work hard against starters in practice. Get Better for next Year!

Now we do have a lot of versatility with this team! We have a lot of guys who can play multiple positions. So it will Be Isiah's job to see who works best together.

Now we get to the trading deadline we have to see where were are! Regardless of what the media says we do have assets! Do we go after a Big name. Do we package a few of our youngs, expiring contracts(Taylor and J rose) and go for Garnett, J O'neal, R Allen etc? I believe some team will falter and a superstar type player will be available. Or if it's not working with Stevie and Steph we can trade one of them for cap relief. We will have options! Let's roll with what we have for half a season! Then re-evaluate. I think we might be suprised! I think anybody on this board could've coached last years team to more than 23 wins. There is absolutely NO WAY we come close that. This team is too talented and too deep. The only worry I have is some these ego's getting in the way! But again that is Isiah's job.

MY PREDICTION
43-39 6th seed with a first rd Victory over the Nets. Then unfortunetly being elimnated by the Bulls in Round 2.

Welcome to the party :) Nice synopsis. I would disagree about Jalen getting any real minutes and Nate being on the low end. I think Nate will get plenty of burn. He's a DYNAMIC player and he brings what this team needs in terms of energy. Everyone feeds off of that.

I don't see any really big issues cropping up this year. I think Isiah will have 10-11 guys playing everynight and that will keep a lot of people happy. With a more uptempo offense and more possessions each game that will help everyone to stay sharp as well. I expect a very surprising season and one that will shock most of the basketball world that is convinced that we are a lost cause.

I think the Knicks have to trade either Marbury or Francis because neither guy is a team first player despite what they might say. I also think that Crawford played really well for Brown last year and became much more polished. I think he deserves alot more than the 15-18 minutes you pencil him in for. I am not sure what to say about Q. He had alot to adjust to last year, has a chronic back injury, and lost his brother. I would expect him to be much more successful but I am not sure how much his back contributed to his lack of success. I am hoping that he is the metropolitan areas hoop version of Carlos Beltran. Eddy Curry could also put himself into that spot.

Welcome to the board.

I'm willing to go out and say if we are 43 wins next year, Zeke is a lock for coach of the year.

I keep getting sucked into believing what some people are posting and forgetting that zeke is an old new school player that believes in veterans to that put forth effort, and there's a really strong chance he get's QRich and JRose and MoT all on the same page.

MRose will come into camp in shape and ready to play because that's just the type of player he is.

needless to say, I enjoyed the read..

Again, welcome to the board.

I agree with Crawford deserving more than the 15-18min/game I just don't know where they come from. If Stevie and Steph play 34min/game(and that's low balling it)That leaves 28 minutes left between Jamal, Nate, and Q Rich at the 1 and 2. I know Q will get some minutes at the 3 but he will also play some 2. I loved how Crawford played at the end of last year and I also believe he improved a lot on the defensive end. I just don't see him playing more than 18min a night unfortunetly. There are only so many minutes to go around. That's why I personally see Nate as the odd man out. But I think Isiah likes Nate and will give him some PT.

I normally hate new guys but you actually made a good first post so I only mildly dislike you.. Good points all around. I do think the biggest threat to our season is not coaching ability, not player ability but player attitudes. If these guys come in ready to compete and accept what they earn then we are in good shape. But if these guys continue what happened last year and bitch about roles and minutes we have a potential disaster. That and having key players in shape and dedicated will determine everything about us. It's not about Isiah or anyone else. It's about the players getting the most out of their ability and stop making excuses.

Great post R2D2(or whatever your name is). You may think of changing that, nobody is ever going to get that right.
I just hope that people will like me

Welcome to my spectacular empire npdya3j23. If I agree with everything you say (And that pretty much means disagreeing with Bip all the time) then I am sure you're stay will be amazing. But if you don't agree and take Bip's side, I'll seek to it that I'll grab the cult and we'll resort to name calling. That's what the cult is known for.

Just kidding there, welcome to the board...Good guys here generally as you may know, I like to see Craw get more mins...I also think that Craw is a better player than Q right now although Q plays better D..I think Francis will be moved the first possible moment...He pounds the ball a bit too much for the new motion offense...I think it was Shaq who said that Dwight Howard will never improve as long as Francis is on that team...He holds the ball way too long...While Jeffries will help the Knicks overall, I don't see him getting more than 24 mins a game...He will help on the defensive end because I think playing defense and playing hard can be infectious especially when it yields results..

So welcome and enjoy the ride...It's a good place to let everyone know your gripes about our beloved Knicks....I'll take 43 wins next year...Sounds good to me...

Welcome aboard...('');

I enkoyed your post, however I disagree with you declaring that Q is the only true shooting guard on this team. I believe Nate though small is a shooting guard... he is a shoot first player that can impact the game in not so subtle ways... I believe Nate can only be a point guard on a team that can run w/o a point guard.
