New York Daily News - Before signing Jared Jeffries, Isiah Thomas had a deal in place with the Blazers to acquire Darius Miles.

With Jeffries now a member of the Knicks, the club will try to move Quentin Richardson.

God, I am glad that Isiah opted to sign Jared instead. Darius Miles is the last thing that this franchise would need right now. Darius has talent but he's never put it all together for any length of time and the Knicks have enough dummies on the team where Darius would have pushed me over the limit. Jared is going to be a huge addition to this team and thankgod Isiah didn't screw that up by giving a guy like Darius Miles ANOTHER chance.

I like Darius' game a lot more than Jeffries. His problem the last couple years has been injuries.

I'm open to giving away Q for virtually anything, but I can't imagine us getting a better player in return than miles.

agreed... i feel this team needed more guys like Jared Jefferies who will be happy in playing thier role & won't be pining for a bigger role in the offense, more touches, more minutes, etc... we have enough spoiled, underachieving primadonnas on this team as it is... don't need to add anymore... talent alone won't win us games, as we all saw from the debacle last year... we need to have cohesion, & everyone on the team needs to know their roles & be able to excel in those roles... Jefferies is a guy you can simply insert into your rotation & not have to worry much about him after that... he'll complement everyone else that's on the roster nicely.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Good thing this was only a second option. It really shouldn't have even been an option, though.

I posted this earlier, but it belongs in this thread:

I noticed the NY Post article about Brian Skinner talking about the apathetic, quitting atmosphere w/ the Blazers. I know that sentiment surely covers more than one person (Randolph, Outlaw, Patterson pre-trade etc.)....but to me, that article served as a critical reminder why not acquiring Darius Miles is a great thing. That guy has lazy, loser & check collector written all over him. So glad we have JJ2 instead of Miles.

I agree totally. Even with jefferies here I would still make a miles trade. Maybe Portland wanted to send back more contracts than the knicks could handle and isiah wanted to see if the wiz would match first.

There is still plenty of time before training camp. I think isiah might have one more move up his sleeve.

I'll take Jeffries. Miles had MICROFRACTURE SURGERY.. to repeat.. I'd steer clear of that surgery and his conttact numbers.

I would trade Francis for miles right now. And even though I hate Q, I can't make that trade right now.

This was discussed before. I'm pretty sure he had arthroscopic, not microfracture, surgery. Big difference but I'd still stay away from him. He's a low IQ player!

I won't believe that Francis is going to play on this team until I see it with my own eyes
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I agree. JJ2 is a good attitude player. We need players that are going to be happy with roles, especially this year b/c we have too many talented players right now. Miles would not be happy only getting 24-26 minutes, which is what I think JJ2 will be getting this year. I think the team needs to stay the same until January and then let's see what we have.
Trust the Process
