Well, I've been talking to one of the posters to UK that implied he was a coach.

And I kept bringing up movies where coaches rose above it all and coached LOSERS to greatness or right next to the doorstep of greatness. And to me, that's what defines a good coach.

the list goes on and on...losers transformed into winners specifically due to their coach...while I'm not sure if that happens in real life, (1969 mets, recent red sox) but I wanted to add another movie to the list...

Coach Roy once was college basketball's top mastermind. But lately his attentions have been on his next endorsements, not on his next game. Obviously they never were losers if they could have become great. Yes, some good coaching and teaching helps, but it's still lying on the shoulders of the players, IMO.
