Francis for Theo Ratliff.

I know people are gonna say we're giving up way too good a player and getting a player who's shot but I want Steve off the roster and I'll take any role player who will help the team. Theo's shot-blocking for 15 mpg will help the team more than Steve will IMO. I can't see any team giving up something better like Eddie Jones or some other expiring contract. You could try to get a draft pick out of Boston but I'd do the trade straight up as is.

I dont know if youve been paying attention here my man, but the Celtics just drafted two and acquired a third 6-2 and under guard this summer, beyond the fact that Steve Francis has 25 mm more than Ratliff coming to him. So what is Boston's angle?

Briggs, you're right 100% but I think the main point of Bonn's post was that he'd rather just give Francis for any stop gap role player who could fulfill a certain need even for a short period of time.

Give Isiah a chance to rehabilitate Francis's value before any attempt to trade him.

Im not on the bash Francis bandwagon. He was here for 2 months in a weird role under tumulous circumstances. This is a 20-7-7 player who should thrive in open court. The player we dont need is Q

If you told me to choose between Francis, Q, Nate, and Rose I would choose Francis. You don't come accross many 20-6-7 players in the league. Besides he is the same height as Wade. I'm not saying that Francis is Wade or even close but Francis can put up numbers against anyone. I can see Marbury, Crawford and Francis being a very strong three headed guard rotation. what I would like Isiah to do is get rid of some of the players Like Jalen Rose, Q, Nate and Mo Taylor.

I hope Isiah has a plan to get rid of some of the clutter because this ship is to full and its just a matter of time for the disgruntled to start screaming for PT and become malcontents. Thats usually the inevitable when there are to many player who could actually play.

yeah, thanks. If Briggs loves Darius Miles, of course he's gonna love Steve Francis. Pure Starphucking!

Fair enough. I'd rather get rid of him now, but if you'd want to hold off to the trade deadline that's fine too. But he's not gonna have much trade value even if he's playing well at the moment. He has a NINE YEAR history of being an awful teammate with baggage.

I think the only realistic trade is Francis for Kmart right now.

why do we need to get rid of francis? so nate can play more? Q is the starting 3, jeffries backs him up. marbs and francis start in the back court, nate and crawford back them up.
frye and curry start in the front court, lee and jerome back him up.

while I don't mind seeing crawford more, at this point, I think we are balanced and have depth.

mrose, jrose and moT are the suit wearers this year, everyone else has a role.

I'd rather add a shot-blocking role player like Theo and let Frye and Lee get all the min at PF.

Francis for K-Mart is a good deal for Denver and I am surprised they demanded more. (Francis only has 3 years left, as opposed to K-Mart's 5 years). I agree that we need to get Francis' trade value up. He really can score and if given 30 minutes in a set rotation, will probably look better than he did last year. I say keep him until the trade deadline and hope that some team needs a scorer to make that final push into the playoffs or that a team will be willing to swap him for some other player that might fit better with our team. Besides, Francis and Marbury might click and by mid-year we might want to keep Francis.

Balkman should have a role on this team next year... Isiah didn't use the 1st round pick to take the guy & let him waste away on IR all season long... trading Francis for a C or PF would make sense, but the contract issue limits our options... someone like KMart seems to be the only real viable option for a Francis trade if the Knicks are willing to take on the extra 2 years of salary... our roster space situation will only allow for a 1 for 1 or 2 for 1 type deal.

no way at this point we already have everything that martin brings and more, the only thing we can do know is build up his trade value, and then look to move him at the deadline and see whats out there.....

I would really like to see a lineup for at least 10 minutes a game

Marbury
Nate
Balkman
Jefferies
Lee

And just press/press

yeah, I think Zeke will probably try Francis and Marbury until the trade deadline. it seems like Denver is also going to wait until then to trade Kmart. I could see a trade of the two around mid-January, but I don't think it'll happen before the season at this rate.

I could see KMart being traded in the offseason if his health is an issue.
If he is on track to return to form Denver would be wise to hold on to him until his value goes up.
Ditto with Francis.. or almost any other Knick not name Crawford.
All our players' values are rock bottom at the moment.
We have to let these guys work under Zeke for at least 1/2 a season to get equal value in return.
I don't think Francis is done.
His year went from bad (Trade to Orlando) to worse (trade to NY) to horrible (fitting in amidst the coach's shenanigans).
Francis is still pretty young with the skills to do real damage.

ofcourse not, basketball is a team game. You root for the team and hope the engine get's better as the season goes by.

You do, however, have to root for the coach.
