My friend and I got into this debate today over what the Knicks biggest need is at the present time. I know that we are lacking under the boards right now, but it seems to me that undersized front lines are pretty much the norm in the east, but you have to be able to compete from the perimeter if you want a fighting chance. I feel that if we have a choice we should trade Spree for a starting calibur point guard (Van Exel, Mighty Mouse) first and see if a serviceable big man can be thrown in, as opposed for shopping him for a big man. So the question is, what is the Knicks biggest need,
Point Guard or Big Man?

Ward and Eisley have both been playing consistently, so I'd have to go with center. Add to the fact they have two young PGs coming up, and I'd def. want a post player before any more perimeter guys.

When you have a decent center life is alot easier. During the Ewing years there was only a few years we had very good PG's. When you have a good C that gets double teamed the game flows better and there are alot of open shots.

What do you guys think of a Spree plus cap trade for Juwan Howard? Is that possible?

the problem with trading Spree for big contracts that are expiring is that essentially you are givig Spree away for nothing. Especially if you are not going to retain those big contracts - and no one in their right mind is going to extend Howard. Plus, since the Knicks are so much over the cap, it's not like space is getting cleared.
