I remember when TT was going off, talking about how he was taking boxing lessons and was going to come back ready to kill people, and then proceeded to average less rebounds than the year before.

Now I hear players talking about how they can perform now that LB is gone. That they are men now. That the chemistry is better now and NOW they will try hard every night.And that NOW they will play D. And that NOW they are going to play like a team. and that NOW guys will reach their potential.

I'm not saying this is untrue. I'm not saying that the players may not do these things. Last year was so bad we may see an amazing turnaround. But here's my thing. I want to see it. I'm tired of the if this happens then we'll perform nonsense. Fans and players are obsessed with LB. He's not even here. He's not a Knick. I don't care if he was Satan. I want to see the players perform. I want them to prove it to me. I don't want to say things are better now because LB is gone. I want to SEE THINGS GET BETTER.

No more words, I want progress. No more hype. I want legitimate in your face progress. I want guys in camp in shape ready to dive through a brick wall for Isiah.

#1-Remember there are 15 guys on this roster. Isiah will pick a 9 or 10 man rotation. 5 or 6 guys ride the pine. I don't want them making excuses for not playing hard when they are called upon.

#2-We established no chemistry or set rotation last year. Isiah will need to experiment in the early going to figure this out. I don't want players using this early experimentation as an excuse to not play hard.

As an organization we set a very dangerous precedent by saying it was okay to quit if you don't like what the coach is doing. I think fans are dismissing this as not a big deal because they hated LB so much. Trust me it is.........I want guys coming to play. I'm sick of the talk by the players and the kool-aid drinkers. Show me results on the court and you will get props. Not before.

Haha I don't think the players really talk that much. They ragged on LB a couple (maybe even one) day in Vegas and that was it.. I think all the fans/posters are talking for them.

Bippity, it's time to give the Larry Brown references a rest. Move on. Route for or against the Knicks, but give the LB inspired threads a rest.

huh? I've made 20 or 30 posts this week. Not once have I mentioned LB. In response to each of my posts about the players not making excuses and coming to camp ready to play this year. Each time someone has responded by saying "well LB made lots of excuses last year". This post was my response to them.

You are correct. LB is long gone. I personally am trying to raise the point that he is gone and that it has to be about the players that are here. It's about their excuses. The guys that are here. Not LB's excuses, not Trevor Ariza's excuses, not Don Chaney's excuses, not John Stark's excuses, not Patrick Ewing's excuses, not Johnny Newman's excuses, not Rory Sparrow's excuses, not Bill Bradley's excuses but the guys that are here. Obviously some people miss the point.

I agree with you bip, I don't think there should be any excuses either, but I also don't think there has been ENOUGH chatter this year.

I think it's just because you and I view the situation differently. You seem to view it as a year to year proposition and a smooth transition from last year to this. Life for a lot seems to begin and end with LB. I have been hearing the same talk and hype from Knicksworld for 5 years and noone does anything to change it. Last year should be rock bottom. Now I want changes and less talk. Talk and hype and promise seems to be more important nowadays than actually on court performance. As for where is Curry and Rose. That's media stuff and is kind of off topic from what I'm talking about.

There are numerous non kool aid drinkers (haters) that are "always antagonistic" and never "conversational" but they tend to agree with you so you don't have a tendency to call them out..

I tend to only address those that are antagonistic and never conversational towards me and ignore other people's interactions, but if you want me to come to your rescue when someone is out of line towards you, I will if you can't handle yourself. As for the Kool aid drinkers comment yes it is sarcastic comments towards those that lump people in categories constantly. IF you are one of them I guess the shoe fits.

If your intention is to draw me out of the wood work so you, solace and fishmike can gang up on me, well, here's your Conversational response post.

Actually know I was not looking to draw you out of the woodworks. If you have a problem with them, deal with them independent of me. I personally don't care if you ever respond to me. That was islesfan on another post trying to drag you out. I just thought it was funny. Once again you don't know how to seperate posters and personalities. All you do is lump people in categories and don't realize people have differnet views. I don't agree with Fish on a lot of things. We agree in generalities as to what is wrong with our 23 win team but on individual topics I disagree with him on a regular basis. But since we don't hate Larry Brown and think he is the sole reason for our 5 years of losing you choose to lump us in categories. I personally only think of you when you have another one of your great posts in response to one of my fantastic posts.....On a side note, are you jealous of other people's online friendships?

I've been reading all UK these past few days and Solace and you have been on a mission to silence any positivity.

Example please. You never give examples. It's great to be positive. Root your asse off. What is not great is accepting half ass effort and not asking a 23 win lackluster team to prove something to you just because you've been a fan for a few years. I want my team to prove that they are winners before I will declare everything all better now that the evil LB has ended his 5 year wreckage of our team........As for Solace. I like Solace. I've been posting with him for a couple years now and we have similar views. So what. Sorry we agree. But I dont' need him for anything. I am very open with my views and they can stand on their own.

So yes, all I have to say is after reading your 20 or 30 rant posts for the past week, was that I found it ironic that Bippity would post a topic "anyone else sick of all the talk"

My team won 23 games. I rant. We average about 30 wins the last 5 years. I rant. That's how I get things off my chest. If you don't like it. Don't read. It's very simple. We can solve this in 5 minutes, if you don't respond to one of my posts we will probably never cross paths again. You've been posting with me long enough to know that's what I do. I rant. Defend your team, that's what you are supposed to do as a fan. But a real fan also demands effort from his team instead of settling for half-ass check collecting.

Sorry for dragging solace and fishy into this, but I was following the Bonn kicking session and noticed that you guys were posting in packs attacking any and all kool aid drinkers (with martin's assistance).

Instead of lumping again please reread and check my involvement in the conversation. I have one post that refers to Bonn along with about 7 other posters. Clearly to lighten the mood. But keep lumping people in categores. It's easier than actually reading.

The team looked much much more organized last Summer League under aguire than it did the previous season under ewing's backup center.

To me, that's progress.

I'm anticipating that team playing together this next year, and no, it's not TALK. It's hope and anticipation.

I'm not sure why this particular off season has you guys running roughshod over of shiny happy knick fans, but to make a long story short...

I think we all as fans are hoping just like you. The difference is simple. We all watched a disastrous season last year. You blame it on one guy. Now that the one guy is gone you think all is better so we must forget about last season and cheer anyone in a Knicks uni. I look at it differently I blame all involved for a horrible season. I am hopeful that chemistry will be better. I am hopeful that the players will come in with a rejuvenated attitude. But I am not going to bury my head in the sand like the "kool aid drinkers". No more slack for the players until they get it done on the court. I'm not going to let players get away with giving a half ass effort and then blaming someone else for that effort. They don't have a clean slate with me. Last year in terms of effort they failed you, me and every other fan on this site. Excusing this is not being a fan, it's settling. If my son fails out of the 1st grade(years from now) I still love him. I still have optimism for him. I still have hope for him. But I don't excuse his effort for the last year. He needs to prove that he is willing to work hard. I dont' bury my head in the sand and say "everything is fine it was the teacher's fault". That is an excuse. What you call negativity are actually fans that are sick of guys that don't give effort and then blame everyone but themselves. So it's great for them to tell me that things are better now. It's great for them to tell me how much better they will be. That's all fantastic. It's great for you to do the same things. Great. Super. But I dont' care about that no
