This is just a fantasy situation going on here....but what if the Knicks were able to add KG to the mix without giving up in the way of the current roster.

Other teams can offer more for KG I'm sure; but these scenarios might be appealing to the T-Wolves to re-load while basically only losing Garnett abd a big contract in Blount.

I suggested this on another board; but wanted to bring it here to get your mixed opinions.

I'm sure there will be some positive & negative one's; but check it out and let me know what you think.

Here are the scenarios:

Trade scenario 1 (with Knicks throwing in a their next available #1 draft pick* [*08’ or the one we exchange with Chicago])

Trade scenario 2…….trading Jalen Rose & Maurice Taylor (2 expiring contracts would not work) Note: same exact trade as in scenario 1 with a #1 pick* added.

Trade scenario 3……would work if T-Wolves added Mark Blount’s 4yr 7mil contract (that’s with the Knicks sending: Mo Taylor, Jalen Rose, Channing Frye, and a #1) it wouldn’t work if the T-Wolves sent Mark Madsen instead of Mark Blount; because Madsen’s contract is not big enough (4yrs at 2mil). Minnesota would be thin up front though with the lost of Blount…but could make up for it in the expiring contracts and the included #1 pick*)

My Bad......Scenario 2 was done just to show that it wouldn't work with sending the 2 expiring contracts to Minnesota...because it was brought up about the 2 expiring contracts on the other board...(unless the T-Wolves added some more players to match up the salaries).

If scenario 1 was good enough..we still would have Taylor's expiring contract to use for ourselves in another trade.

The knicks have what it takes to get KG and compensate the wolves but they are just not going to let him go. They see going to rape him for what he is worth. Its a shame.

I would do this but instead of the first rounder I would put in Collins. The Knicks would have Jaric, and Franbury.

Not 1 of those guys is a franchise calibre player, while KG is. I don't believe MIN would ever consider an offer like that unless the 1st rounder were a lock top 5 unprotected pick. Unfortunately, we no longer have our own 1st round pick this coming year since it will likely go to Chicago in the swap, & there's no way a late teens - early 20's 1st rounder will be good enough to round out that deal.

While RegisBury would love KG, is it writtenanywhere that KG wants to play with him again?

That is the perfect trade and the wolves wouldn't have any reason to ask for more.

That team would easily contend for a championship. Like I said the wolves are gonna squeeze the life from kgs career till he can't put 20/10/5 up again.

Isiah said there will be no saviors or miricle trades that will catapult the knicks into greatness. We just gotta put the best team out and hope for the best. In isiahs case it better be best.

Yes, he has said so himself. They have both said it.

If we gonna Starphuch, lets do it right for a change! I think I recall the quote as KG would not mind MinnyBury coming to the wolves, but stephon would prefer a reunion in NYC.

We can offer alot for KG, but if he ever did get on the block, half the teams in the league will be putting packages together. The chances of him coming to NY are slim at best. However, if Fyre plays like we hope he will play this year, Minni will have to take a long look at any offer that includes him. I hope it happens. KG would be great for the Knicks and would really push guys like Curry and Crawford to become great players.
