I'd love to get Ray Allen on the knicks. Do you think a combo of:

Nate Rob, Franchise, MoT

for Ray Allen and junk

could get it done?

what junk? they're not trading Rashard Lewis in that package, so the only other contracts left are the expirings of Danny Fortson or Chris Wilcox, who they want to re-sign... they also just signed Earl Watson, so they won't be looking to deal him off either.

we don't have a match w/SEA unless you want to offer up Francis & Nate for Ray straight up... i don't know if SEA makes that trade.

only if ray demanded a trade but even then a team would offer them a much greater package than Francis/Nate

Francis, Robinson, and Rose for Allen, Watson, and Fortson. That's the best i can think of.

I would do whatever it took to get Ray. Crawford, Nate, Rose, Francis, whatever the hell they want, I'll do. Isiah got his defensive player, now all he needs is his shooter and Ray would be shooter and #1 scorer. Find a way Isiah!

problem is it doesn't work under the cap. The only won that works is is Jalen/Nate but you don't give up a guy as good as Allen for cap relief. No way they're going to want Francis and his longterm contract. Teams on the fringe of making the playoffs will offer seattle an up & coming player & draft picks for Ray

Here's one that that works under the cap for Ray and gives them some talent:

Francis, Taylor, Channing Frye

for

Allen, Fortson, Robert Swift

Isiah could come to a huge decision and just go for the win now approach again.

What do I mean? Go after k-mart and ray Allen. Giving up some expiring contracts and giving up on channing.

Not saying I want to do this, just throwing gas on the fire. Getting ray Allen is my dream buy Crawford showed he can be like ray Allen. I think all the ray Allen talk is too late. Ray should already be here. I think the knicks should leave that alone. Ray is the man but I only want him if the knicks decide to trade for a proven vet down low.

I was just about to ask where do I sign but then I remembered the flashes Channing showed of being close to a double-double starting PF. can't make that trade not for Frye. Allen is only 31 but its not like trading frye for someone like KG

It would be a starphuch of epic proportions, and not one I would advocate, but

Francis for Martin

Rose, Taylor, Frye for Ray, Fortson, Swift (and waivable smaller pieces like Noel Felix, Mikki Moore, Michael Gelable etc.)

PG- Marbury
SG- Allen
SF- Jeffries
PF- Martin
C- Curry

6- Craw- SG/PG
7- Lee- SF/PF/C
8- Nate SG-PG
9- QRich- SF/SG
10- Fortson- PF
11- Swift- C
12- Malik- PF/C

IL: James, Collins, Balkman

It at least makes you think a little.

Ray Allen gets the following salary:
06/07 : $14,611,570
07/08 : $16,000,000
08/09 : $17,388,430
09/10 : $18,776,860

I see him as having one more good season and then packing it in.
To add his kind of salary for an almost over the hill guy like him would be utter folly.
Ray Allen and his contract are the kind of thing you only add as a final piece to championship run.

Not sure I would go so far as to say he'll have 1 more good season and then pack it in. He averaged a career high in PPG last year (25.1) and shot his best percentages from the field and 3pt range since 2001-2002.

Still its a lot of money to give to 31 year old player.

Well since we're on this fantasy trip, I'll do you one better:

Knicks trade a combination of Frye, Lee and J Rose/Francis for KG and Jaric

Knicks new lineup:

Curry
Garnett
Jeffries
Allen
Marbury
"Man, who knows with this team." Aguirre.

He's non essential, it works under the cap with just Noel Felix and Michael Gelable. They have to add about 6-7 mil in contracts to the main 3 I propsed.

you cant trade Frye for Ray under any circumstance. Frye's going to be putting up close to a double-double as Ray is riding the bench 2-3ys from now on the IL
