I was just thinking about it and...we are basically paying 30million for what Balkman is supposed to be am i wrong?... I mean why draft Balkman if you are going to sign another player with similar skill leval to play in his place for way more money... Judging from washingtons boards... JJ has no offensive skill, so while he might be a good defender... teams can just ingnore him on the other side of the ball... I guess im just a little worried about us giving another huge contract... JJ is good i like him but full MLE? i dont know. I'm a little worried.... but i do hope it works out!

JJ doesn't get my ball* in an uproar one way or the other.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

Elite,

Jeffries is 26 (when season starts), 6-11 long arms, guards 4 positions, and signed a contract that will end when he is 31.

MLE is an average NBA contract. 5 million is an easy contract to move for a player like him. Whatever he turns into, we will have him during his peak/most productive years.

While balkman plays a similar role, hes 6-6 and cannot start now. JJ can be plugged into the 3 spot right now and can grow with the Curry and Frye. He is damn near the perfect player for us.

As for offense, either he will develop some, or he will be another big atttacking the glass and boxing out, and he will be a benificiary of Steph and Steves forays into the lane.

As for the Full MLE, Washington already offered him more money over 6 years. This was a reasonable offer, similar money over 1 less year, this is nothing outrageous by any stretch of the imagination.

Jeffries was a good defender on one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA... in terms of potential, he's kind of like a rich man's Walter McCarty, maybe a Derrick McKey-type or like a young PJ Brown type of player. It's the age-old "big SF" dream.
