Ok, I'm bored...

I would give up David Lee, Nate Robinson and a 2nd rounder. Would that be enough or too much?? I think J.Smith is going to be a very solid pro (with a good coach). He really came on with his outside shooting, defensive intensity late last season. Is he untouchable by Atlanta? They have Marvin Williams, Sheldon Williams, Harrington (as of this moment) and Josh Childress (2/3). Comments?

I do like Josh Smith, but that's too much. Josh is good for making the spectacular dunk or an impressive block every so often, but when it comes to the actual game and the know how, I think Lee is more sound. Maybe it's just NY bias, always tending to over value our own players, but I'd rather have Lee alone, much less include Nate and the pick.

He averaged 11.3 pts, 2.60 blks, 6 rbs. Thats more than an occasional block. I think eventually he fills out and becomes a PF. He reminds me a little of Tyrus Thomas. He's explosive around the basket and improved his jumper a great deal during the second half of the season.

As much as i like D Lee, I def give him up for Josh Smith...

Channing Frye, straight up. I would rather keep Lee as he's a better fit next to Curry and our shoot first guards.

This kid post all star was picking up assists too. He averaged 15 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 4.1 apg, 3.1 bpg, 1 spg, and was making 1 out of 3 3ptrs after the break. Almost Kirielenko like.

great research

I believe he raised his fg% during that time to a respectable mid-40's as well

That's outstanding for a young player. What's his man-to-man and help defense like?

another great thing about Josh is how he has sought to develop his ball-handling and become more of a playmaker for Atlanta. By the end of last season he was forcing the turnover and turning the other way with it leading the break.

I can't see any way that Josh Smith is available, especially with Atlanta trading Al Harrington for basically a trade exception.

I don't see them trading him either, but they do have a lot of forwards who are gonna command playing time: Childress, JSmith, Marvin Williams, ZaZa, Shledon Williams....

which is why they let Al Harrington go. Josh Smith is the best player on that team, maybe second best behind Joe Johnson. they aren't that stupid.

Josh is a special player. He's gonna get better. he is the type of player you have to find a way to keep.

They have some good swingmen on that team. If I was GM I would try to swipe childress away. I think childress is a nice two way threat. Dude is is a great defender, especially with steals. He's crazy log and can create his own shot, hit the jumper and sky with yge best of them. If anything yge knicks should target him. I want that guy on the knicks. Did I mention he is 6' 9"?

Josh Smith is a consistent jumpshot away from being a really good player. He can defend, rebound, pass, and block shots like a center. If he improved his outside shooting, which is not bad just not great, he would be a real offensive and defensive force. That being said, I would not give up Lee, Nate, and a draft pick. If Nate learns how to play with control, he can become a really good scoring point guard, and Lee is an excellent rebounder and scorer. Both of them is too much. I would give up Lee and a first round pick definitely. Smith can replace much of Lee's rebounding, plus add more shotblocking to our frontcourt. There is no way Atlanta is going to trade him though.

2nd best behind Joe.

a Sweetney for Childress trade following the 04 or 05 season is something I used to hope the organization would push for.

how about Frye, Collins and Francis for Josh? Is Collins signed yet? If he's not we can trade his draft rights to them. They need PGs. Plus they have the cap space to absorb the Franchise

I had the opportunity to go to a lot of Hawks games this year. josh has improved a lot, but he is a much better help defender than man to man. He tends to get beat man to man, oddly enough his lateral movement for such a good athlete is not that great.and he gives up a lot of position. Tayshaun prince was just posting him up at will and shooting a jump hook over him about 4 feet from the basket... His jumper has improved, but his handles need a lot of work, he really can't beat anyone off the dribble at all... I like josh childress a lot. Not real flashy, but a better defender man on man, better shooter, passer, scorer and a solid player mentally....
