What is Felton's role supposed to be on this team? For all the size problems we've got I would expect to see him get more playing time. And did anyone else hear that comment that he is "the strongest man in the NBA"?!? I forget who said it, but it was during a game last year. Yeah he's a big guy, but if he's so strong why isn't he seeing some time and dominating other teams' centers?

I have a feeling that the Knicks could be a very good team this year if there is simply some improvement from within. Hopefully the other players will be taking a page from Camby's book.

Wonder what Shaq would have to say about that strongest man comment!

I'm not exactly sure what will happen with Spencer. He is big and finished the season nicely, but i have a feeling he will go elsewhere. A lot of teams might be looking for a guy like him. Still, he would be nice to hold on to, but i would like to find something better.

Felton Spencer's play can be compared to that of John Wallace. He can score in explosive spurts, has slightly better than average defensive talent, and is "the strongest man in the NBA" (I heard that during a game as well). If he was given the change he could contribute, however the odds of him being resigned are slim, and the odds of him getting some time if he was resigned are next to nothing.

I don't believe you can compare him to John Wallace, but i do see where your coming from. Still, will he see minutes? Probably not many, but he might be worth holding onto. I still am debating whether he's more useful then Travis Knight or not.

I know most of it was probably luck, but do you guys remember last year when he played for about 10 minutes in the late first quarter to early second quarter (towards the end of the season) and was unstoppable?

Thus my comparison to Wallace before. Yes, it was a little far fetched, but I like Spencer. He's the best comic relief we've had since Chris Dudley

Felton was awesome in college at Louisville. I think he was a lottery pick even like 7 years ago. The guy has the goods its just a matter of him getting in shape or whatever else is holding him back. he is definitly worth the 11th or 12th roster spot IMO.

I have to agree. Early last year Felton had a couple of good games - certainly servicable enough for a 11th or 12th player - before he hurt himself. And unless we are not seeing something the rest of the Knicks staff is during practice, I say sign him up. Of course Laydon may just be waiting to see what kind of big man he can get for a point guard and power forward before he makes another move. If nothing happens before the start of training camp, I look for Felton to be signed.
