The reactionary nature of Madison Square Gulag suits has me wondering whether Walt (Clyde) Frazier will make it through the 2006-07 season.
Say what? How could any MSG suit even think of dumping - or dumping on - the Knicks' living legend? Well, in the world of James Dolan, Isiah Thomas and (Silent) Steve Mills, anything is possible.

Especially when it involves their fearless leader Stephon Marbury. Anyone in the organization who crosses him, or dares criticize him, is in for trouble.

Just ask Larry Brown.

There is a situation between Frazier and Marbury that has been flying under the radar, probably because not many people tune in to the MSG Network. Let's go back to July 8, when MSG aired a summer league game between the Knicks and Suns.

During this meaningless exercise, Marbury, who came to Las Vegas to "support" his team, joined Frazier and Gus Johnson at the broadcast table. Marbury must have thrilled Knicks fans when he proclaimed: "I don't have anything to prove to anyone. The only person I'm competing against is myself." I'm sure all NBA players also breathed a sigh of relief after hearing that.

Marbury, in an introspective mood, went on to alert viewers that he "became a man" during his public feud with Brown. "I was pro-active," Marbury said. "Somebody told me I went from Gandhi to Malcolm X."

This vivid imagery reflected the self-absorbed path Marbury was driving on. Perhaps sensing that, and not wanting the interview to degenerate any further, Frazier challenged Marbury. Clyde made an excellent point that needed to be made. He reminded Marbury that Brown had put the same kind of verbal heat on Chauncey Billups and Allen Iverson.

"(Brown) always tested guys," Frazier told Marbury. "That's what he was looking for. He wanted to see what you were able to come up with to be a man, to handle it."

Marbury developed a sudden case of amnesia.

"No, I'm not giving (Brown) that much credit," Marbury said. "I'm sorry, Clyde."

Instead of letting Marbury off the hook, Frazier dug in.

"Then where did (the motivation to become a man) come from?" Frazier, his voice raising, asked. "If (Brown) didn't do it...."

Marbury cut off Frazier. "No, I'm not giving (Brown) that much credit," Marbury said. "And I'm not even supposed to be talking about it. He doesn't get that much credit."

Sensing this confrontation could escalate, Johnson sounded relieved to go to commercial. Still, what viewers had witnessed was Marbury contradicting himself. Before Frazier even mentioned Brown, Marbury admitted the feud had helped make him a "man." But when Frazier said Brown had used tough love as a motivating force before, Marbury didn't want to hear it.

We already know Marbury does not like to be challenged or confronted, especially by Knicks broadcasters he knows he can control through Thomas and Dolan. Last season, Marbury confronted a couple of Knicks voices, who he believed had criticized him, and launched into an obscenity-laced spiel. Instead of chastising Marbury for his churlish behavior, Gulag suits ignored it. They simply looked the other way.

Make no mistake, under the current Gulag regime - especially with a desperate Thomas now coaching the Knicks - Marbury is going to have his way. If Marbury had any problems with Frazier's line of questioning, he likely has already alerted Thomas.

And if Marbury ever wanted Clyde out, there is no doubt in my mind Dolan and Thomas would grant him his wish.

For only in Bizzaro Knicks World would the suits jettison Frazier, a Knicks icon - a Hall of Famer - for telling the truth.

If they even thought about getting rid of Clyde I would never watch MSG again. Especially over something this rediculous. Just goes to show how retarded sports writers are.

As much as this article is a hypothetical, I can see how it could be absolutely true. Stephon Marbury has a stranglehold on this organization, as evidenced by what Anucha said about Stephon demanding Dolan hire familymembers into the organization, Marbury's riff with Brown causing his eventual firing, Marbury's close relationship with Isiah Thomas, go ask Kurt Thomas how much of a stranglehold Steph has on this organization.

It's one thing when your player like Shaq, Kobe, Dirk or Duncan and you have a hold on the organization when you win and have the success that those players have had but Stephon has accomplished nothing here, absolutely nothing. Even though he's won nothing, he has the kind of handle on the organization that the players I just mentioned have and thats startling. Stephon Marbury is a cancer and absolutely bringing this organization down, he's done it before and he's doing it again.

If at any point that Clyde gets fire in the near future, you know exactly where to look.

If in fact Clyde was guilty of being disloyal to the Knicks Franchise, he should not only be fired, but banished from Madison Square Garden.

It is possible, of course, that there is some other explanation, or that Clyde simply didn't have enough Knicks Kool-Aid that day.

However, should he be fired, the best method is as follows: Wait until Clyde arrives to call a Knicks game; Inform him that he's fired, and have him escorted from the premises by armed security guards.

Just the Knicks' way of telling the Hall of Fame point guard: "Goodbye Clyde, and thanks for the memories!"

I think the article is satirical in it's excessiveness, but it's correct in pointing out how Isiah has to constantly coddle Crybury's fragile mind state.

I think the Marbury trade was Isiah's biggest mistake, but even if the trade itself wasn't, handing him the keys to the team certainly has been.

Lets not be such homers that we don't consider this article!

Marv did not play along and he was banished!

I heard the interview and thought Clyde was playing with Dumburys head big time.

How we have fallen that we COULD pandering to Marbury is a tell tale sign.

I long gave up siding against the critical media as they have been more correct than "homer" fans.

What a load of hogcrap, since when does Marbury signs the check at MSG? With the power he seems to have he should entend his contract till he's 100 years old. You Marbury and IT haters will grab any piece of scrap just to bash them. Let the season start, then if everything start going to hell then bash them mercilessly. Until then we as Knick fans should approach the season with optimism. The constant bashing is really getting old, the same as the LB thing also. He was here he sucked and now he's gone. IT is here now if he sucks next season then he will be gone also. It's as simple as that.

If the point of the article is to illustrate that LB and Marbury do not like each other and probably could not go through another season together, then I agree with that, which is one of the reasons LB is gone (although his own poor job performance was a bigger reason for his demise). However, if this guy is seriously suggesting that Marbury could get HOF'er Frazier fired for taking a jab at him, then the author is to quote LB "delusional." Isiah and Dolan are not firing a Knick icon over that crap no matter what Marbury might say (and I really doubt he would say anything). In fact, I think Isiah is really about to start laying the hammer down on guys this year who do not perform, including Marbury.
