wrong decision. Jackie is younger and plays harder than every other Center on the Knicks roster. I thought basketball was about putting together the best team. If the Knicks were truly "rebuilding" like Isiah repeatedly says, Jackie would be on this team and Jerome James would be off.

Agreed. Losing Jackie won't destroy the franchise but it's more symbolic of the team being in only half rebuilding mode.

Atleast we can agree on something there Bonnie.

Very good move by Isiah. When LB called Jackie the best center on the KNicks he was absolutely delusional. Butler is a nice player but LB had other motives when he said that and that was to throw a bone out to a player and his agent that is part of the LB circle.

I wish Bultelr the best. But I won't lose sleep over it.

I think this is the big question mark. If some scrub that doesn't stick gets it, then wrong move- but, if its a full mle to someone like Jeffries, or a trade that improves/balances out the team (i.e., Francis for Martin & picks & other assets), then maybe yes, its a good move.

The Knicks have to many players as it is some scrubs would actually be nice to have since it makes it easier to alot players time.

I just don't get this view. When you can get a solid cheap big man, you do it right away. There's no roster spot problem when you have about five veterans who could be waived without damaging the team.

Dolan is trying to save money. The butler had to go, along with the maid and the chauffeur.

However, he will be keeping the gardener.

The funny thing is, the other day a poster made a trade like Mo Taylor's expiring contract for Baron Davis. lol

I mean seriously ,is Jackie Butler worth 14 mil (reg salary + lux tax)? Heck no. He is not better than Curry and it's debatable if he is better than Jerome James. When James wasn't in foul trouble, I actually saw good things from him. LB kept JJ in is doghouse also. All part of his plan to bring down IT.

It was the right decision. I anticipate that the Knicks will play Frye a little at center this year. Thus, Butler was not going to see the light of day as far as playing time. There are free agent centers out there that the Knicks can get for 1/4 the price. Isiah found Butler, and I am sure he has his eye on another cheap center to take his place.

I dont think Butler was going to get much playing time so why pay for him?

Therein lies the problem.
so why pay for him
The much better solution would be to both pay and play him. And forget about lazy bum veterans.
