Another solid pickup by the Suns, a smart defensive point to back up Nash. Him and Raja Bell with marion and amare at the forwards is a solid defensive unit - how perfect would marcus camby be for this team at center?

he's nothing special... i'd rather have Nate Robinson personally... he's got better upside & is alot more athletic.

would LOVE to get Camby back here.

Anybody see a pattern with the Suns recent aquisitions from the past year. All solid defensive role players to compliment all the offense.

A-fan, i used to torture the crap outta my ex's dog... would start poking it while it was laying down comfortably on the bed, so as to make him get up & find another spot to get comfortable in... then wait until he's almost asleep, & repeat.

I think Banks is a solid player. This is a good pick up by the Suns.

yeah, he's a good backup point that can put pressure on opposing PG's. now barbosa can come in and play the 2 instead of the 1

I repeatedly said the past 2 years that the Suns would NOT win a championship until they started playing defense and with many of their recent acquisitions it looks like they are doing that. I hope Isiah is watching if he wants to use a Suns style of play.

I always felt the Suns defense was underrated. nash is a bad defender but they have a fast-paced offense, so a lot of points get scored. Not that they were a great defensive team, but they weren't as terrible as everyone said - if they were, they wouldn't be able to run as much. But now they started getting guys like raja bell, banks, even kurt thomas, they should have a few good years of championship contending in them

Well, I think they had a good chance last year if Stoudamire would have been there. However, adding KT did improve their deense.

I have to ask, (Not directed at you NYK) when and how did Banks gain the status of defensive player? This guy has been warming the bench his whole career until he got traded last year.

I do think adding Banks was good, not because he is a defensive player, but because he is a serviceable backup PG. The Suns/Nash needed someone to allow Nash to rest without the offense falling to pieces more than they needed a defensive stopper of any kind.

I agree with you Oohah. I'm only going on the few times I've seen him play(which is obviously sporadic) but whenever I did he was a ballhawk, he was very energetic defensively and always giving a very good effort also in college his defensive effort was the same. Is it possible that could be attributed that he was just trying to earn some more PT? Very possible. Either way I guess we'll find out.

I agree with you Oohah. Banks is intriguing in that he looks very good when he makes his moves. Strong, fast, nasty handle. He was drafted to play, not to sit. I wonder why he hasn't been able to play with the Celtics, and why Minnesota was so quick to eject him?

Maybe he is an ass-hole?
