now we're talking. I think he's zeroing in on miller. The interview at the game clyde asked him what his plans were as if he was setting him up and the kid was a good interview...he described his pros as being able to play within a system and hit the open jumper.

two things we could use...but williams is a good call as well..

keep them coming briggs, I go to you before I go to espn

Not sure what Williams rebounding numbers are in SL, but he can't be worse then Paul. If we plan on playing Curry and Frye big minutes, we'd better find another complimentary player who likes to hit the glass.

If Curry goes down, Eric Williams can play a role, he can step in and produce. Paul Miller looks like he needs to improve many facets of his game. He needs to go to europe or nbdl to work on rebounding the basketball--hes a one-dimensional player no D no rebounding no speed maybe in 2-3 years he can be a niche player, but i wouldnt comapre eric Williams and miller.

Briggs....when you compare Jackie B to Moses Malone in any way, shape or form, you make my head spin. But when you make a sound, cogent argument such as the one in this post, I'm behind you 100%. Nice job.

Well...if there's a shread of truth to that, then there's no question we'll match SA on the Butler offer sheet.

My opinion is that the comparison is like calling Matt Carroll a poor man's Larry Bird. Moses was the most intense, relentless rebounder I've ever seen. Jackie B doesn't exhibit that. He's a nice backup with a little bit of touch around the hoop. That's about it.

That's like saying Andrew Bynum is a poor man's Shaq; Oh I forgot, he is! Maybe a homeless man's Shaq!

well id say that SA is probably the best managed team in the league. If the spurs go after your player--even though he is 20 with very limited PT--giving him the ===to a 6 pick in a draft, then, people should take notice.

I dont think any player or possibly any human can be compared to Shaq. He easily could be the most unique human being in terms of his physical size and abilities in the history of the world

Bynum is a sure-fire superstar in the making--hes no poor man's anyone.

Here are AB's best numbers from each of his 5 SL games

24 points 15 rebounds 6 assists 5 blocks

if you can find me another player in any of the leagues, using all of their individual game highs, you wont find a line like this. hes got superstar potential. I know its hard to understand, but this kid is still 18 years old.

I'm not sure I can find the right words to describe how huge a leap it is to go from decent summer league #s to guaranteed NBA superstar. I don't know if they even had summer leagues 6 years ago but I bet Eddy Curry would have been up big #s like that too

This I agree with 100%. The Suns when the had Colangelo and the Mavs right now are right up there too.

Amare stoudemire put up 14 and 6 in his SPL. He sure has made pretty good prgress. I guess according to your logic you have to put up 50 points a game for it to translate to the pros. As for Eddy curry, so far, hes done very little in the nBA for a 2 pick--in fact AB made him look stupid even though hes nearly 5 years younger with MUCH less experience throwing down 16 points on him in one Q.

Let's be fair and compare Amare's summer league #s after 1 year of NBA experience to Bynum's after 1 year of NBA experience. Oh nevermind--Amare was too good for the summer league by that point.
for Eddy curry, so far, hes done very little in the nBA for a 2 pick
That was the point of the analogy
I guess according to your logic you have to put up 50 points a game for it to translate to the pros.
No, according to my logic, You could put up far MORE THAN 50 points in an SL game and still turn out to be a bum in the NBA. You have to play well in the NBA for it to matter. I'm not the guy who called Frye a bust after 3 SL games. I'm not the guy drooling over Bynum's or Marcus's SL stats. I'm not a sucker for SL performances.
