A. Sebastian Telfair to the Celtics over drafting Brandon Roy

B. Shane Battier to the Rockets for Stromile Swift and Rudy Gay[i wonder if Van Gundy happened to see Rudy put up 20-11--3-2-3 in 24 minutes last night? Battier is a role player imho. you give up a shot blocker who still has a lot of potential in the right spot and a guy like Gay for a roll player with a huge contract?

completely agree. Houston desperately needed a guy like Rudy to take the pressure off Mcgrady/Yao and I can't stand Telfair or anyone related to Stephon Marbury for that matter

i think letter wasnt that bad of a trade than b cuz portland has lot of point guards and has to many projects in thier team and telfair was losing his starting job to jack so it wasnt a bad trade.then portland got an nba ready player in the draft and they needed that instead of a player full of promises

I think this is more Houston cutting their losses on the Swift signing.

unstopaball12...I think BRIGGS was saying that Boston made a bad trade...not Portland.

Also, looking at the Memphis roster, they really need an alpha dog on that team. Right or wrong, Blubbury or Francis for Eddie Jones should look good to the Logo. By the time Lowry is ready to assume the reign, Franbury would be in their last year of their contract.

The Celtics deal was horrible. I totally agree. Brandon Roy is a much more complete player than Telfair. The Houston deal wasn't as-bad.. Battier does alot of the little things and is a sure-thing with defense, character, and doing the little things. They can move Tracy to 2-guard. The Rockets want to make a run this year, god-willing McGrady's back holds up. Moving him to the two will keep him on the perimeter more... and Battier will pick up the rebounding slack.

Houston needs roll players to get to the next level..TMac and Ming is enough star power for that roster...They need pieces to surround those guys..They don't have time to develop a rook like Gay...Next up for them is a legit point guard...

I completely agree...
Gay has a solid chance at beeing a special player...
And a talent like Telfair can be had at a much lower cost.. Roy should have a very solid NBA career.

Id bet a milkshake that Rudy is better than Battier TODAY, not in a couple of years. On top of it you throw in swift? rudy is a freak of nature wait until he sees these open lanes in the nba. Houston couldve used Rudy developing with Macs back ???? I certainly over-rated Houston myself.

the knock on him is if he'll live up to his athleticism/potential or if he'll bust like tim thomas. the rockets have a limited window with tmac since his career seems to be getting cut short due to injury. if they pick up a guy like brevin knight and a solid defending 4 (kurt thomas?) they could be a solid playoff team next year

To me Swift is almost not a basketball player. A player like him going to #2 in the draft represents what's going wrong in the NBA. He is quick, he jumps a lot, he dunks but he does not know how to play basketball, and the worst of all is that he thinks he is Karl Malone and shoots a lot of bad jumpers. And by the way, he is 27 years old already, so I think it is time to start doubting about his potential.

Seems to me these players aren't thought of as highly by NBA GMs as you would believe.......
