good call simrud...well, the key I've noticed is the coaching styles...

There is actually an offense AND a defense...and I'm serious about that defense...take a look at that washington game, it's like a 2-1-2 zone. Interesting and you can easily see why when there is a break, it always seems to be balkman leading it.

It's a zone man defense but it's not zone, because it's basically just switching off your man and continuing the flow, faking going around and under the screen, etc.

Isiah was mentioning that it's more about showing players what they need to do to be successful and opposed to just telling them.

He mentioned to clyde about the two guard alignment and it made tons of sense (ofcourse because that's how the knicks won their last championship).

Did willis reed run the floor? Yep, I mean, he was no amare, but he ran the floor about as much as curry can be expected to, and when you see the knicks run, the center isn't the player running, because of shifting man coverage up front, the breaks involve these players.

And the breaks are happing off makes and misses.

It's truly interesting to see a coach actually put in set plays.

If they knicks are ultra successfull, does another team take a chance at next town brown at his asking price, or does he become more of a historical hire (like memphis did with hubie Brown).

No more $10 mill salaries for sure.

Watching the summer league, I'm watching players reacting off of the other teams offense, switching on defense and basically not playing a cheeseball ZONE, but more of a box and 1, riley-like defensive scheme usually employed during the days when zones were illegal.

our wing defenders will eliminate the back door plays and with fry efilling the gaps (and balkman) we should be able to slow down the middle to lower of the pack teams.

The elite teams, as I see the knicks now, will still beat us, but we will be competitive against the older elite teams (detroit, miami).

defensively, we actually have a couple of players that could "slow down" wade, billups, rip in Qrich, Balkman and collins, but for an entire game, no way.

But this is just year one...or is it 34?

I will be surprised if we win more than 32 games.

Let's have a winning season first. But yeah if they did manage to somehow get into the second round of the playoffs, it would be awesome

By your logic, other than Miami, every other team in the league was unsuccessful.
