Which should be to never trade draft picks until the draft ever again. Unless its an offer we can't refuse. & never give up unprotected picks again which should have allways been a policy of ours.

This way we could start maximizing the value of the picks in trades. If we want to trade them. We gotta learn from our mistakes.

If we waited until the draft to trade our pick during the Marbury trade. Then we could have landed a player of Marbury's calibre for that pick straight up. Without giving all that we did

up. Which would have been in the lottery, without Marbury sneaking us in the 8th seed. And if we waited for the draft to trade our pick this yr we could have gotten a young player better than Curry for that pick straight up. Or for Curry straight up.

If they put that policy in place we can avoid making similar mistakes in the future.

Another policy should be. No more eating large salaries for draft picks. Since we could probably buy late draft picks at the draft for way cheaper.(M.Rose trade.) And if we were to eat a salary it gotta only have one extra yr, and the pick gotta be in the 15-20range.

No more eating salaries for other players. Unless that player is a proven stud.(Jamal Crawford, JYD trade). Or if we are to eat a salary it gotta be only 1 extra yr.

If we could learn from our mistakes from hear on out. We can still turn this team around.

Just out of curiosity, when are allowed to look forward to this season w/o the gloom & doom that resides on this site daily?

To me, we got rid of the the poison known as Larry Brown. We should be readyy to look forward to Marbury playing like he's possessed in '06/'07. Look forward to all the promising kids. Look forward to J Rose & Mo expiring. Look forward to Isiah Thomas and his coaching (i.e. defense, motion offense, a semblance of a lineup, respect for the organization....all the things that Brown failed to exhibit).

I had a lot of high expectations last season when we added Brown, Eddie Curry, A.Davis, Frye, Lee, Nate. To go with Marbury, Crawford & Ariza. And I was let down big time. And I can't afford emotionally to go through the same thing again. Or im going to turn out like DJ.

Besides I didn't say one thing negative about any of the players we have on the roster. All I said was we should start a policy of not trading picks until the draft so we could maximize its value. And we shouldn't take back salaries with more than an extra yr on them when we trade for a player we want. Learning from past mistakes.

I actually agree about trading picks. it's too risky.

but one thing I will say about last season, beyond how badly Brown alienated everyone, is that anytime you add that many new faces all at once, there is going to be a sizeable adjustment period. I think there will be much more consistency this year as everyone knows one another.

...But behind the scenes, Yankees officials maintain they cannot be so scared of missing the playoffs that they become the Knicks of Major League Baseball, desperately piling on bad contracts at the expense of the future.

It's one thing to trade picks when you have a Patrick Ewing (or similar) in his prime and you're trying to win now. But ever since he broke his wrist the draft should have been our prime concern.

It's possible to getting franchise players through crafty trades or low draft picks, but it's a really low odds proposition.
Knicks should start a new policy.
