He look like he lost about 30 pounds and he looks really hobbled and has lost tons of his athleticism.

He thought he was ready in March and now it is 4 months later and he looks like this?

I think this is gonna be really sad for his career. If he can't return to form NBA fans will be robbed of seeing one of the greatest PF's to ever play it. I hope it isn't so.

Its wrong for anyone to say AMAre is the greatest power forward that ever lived since marbury already alluded to it.

I didn't see the summer league game yet so I have no opinion on what happened or how amare looks now, but I just wanted to comment on the way guys were trashing fryes defense on amare. If amare didn't get 50 on him frye did a superb job. Amare is the best power fwd in the world. Period. No need to post stats or count the rings or trophies his peers have.

If the dude can get back to the point where he was before he got hurt it will be proven.

Frye was out for a hug portion of that game, and the refs were callig some really bad fouls on him.

Don't worry Killa,

If Amare can't explode anymore, he will just reach into his Kevin McHale-esque offensive repertoire and beat everyone with his plethora of scoring moves, or don't you know how huge his offensive skillset is?

Seriously though, I don't think Stoudemire should be playing in the summer league at all, WTF is wrong with this guy and the Suns? Don't they realize the risk?

He's had a huge chunk of time to recover.. he has to get stronger by playing.. this is a good way to do it, knocking off the rust, showing him what he has to work on.

It's been less than a year since his first surgery, and 4 months since his second. It's a bad move. I would have given him until at least training camp.

ROFL!! He'll have to add a whole new player's worth of moves to compensate. He'll still be good and effective, especially in that offense and playing with Nash, but he will rely have to expand his game.

Shades of Larry Johnson, no? I think Amare is skilled enough that he'll be able to compensate for what he lost athletically, but it is a shame. I guess great risks come with great gifts.

You're right, if he can't explode anymore, Stoudemire can still be a good player, he's big and strong, etc. He'll have to remake his game as Shawn Kemp tried to do, and how Webber has done. Only Kemp did not have to do it so early, and Webber always had the skills.

I am really rooting for Stoudamire to come back big. Even if he expands his game tremendously, if he loses his athleticism there will always be a "what if?" when he is talked about.

But isn't a part of being the greatest mean 'you always stay in form to begin with'? That's kind of like the fat guy saying 'I could have made it to the pros. And someone asks 'what happened'? And the fat guy responds 'no talent'.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I thought this would happen. He is one of the few guys I would have traded Channing Frye for.

For those who didn't see the game, Amare straight up jacked Channing and took his lunch money. What worried me not that Channing didn't play him to a standstill, but that Channing didn't even look like he belonged on the same floor as Amare, it was that bad.

Who was geeting Frye the ball anyway? Nate and Collins sure as hell didn't and Amare was mauling him on defence and pushing off on offence and getting the calls. Of course anyone who had to deal with these condition would have a bad game.

I guess Frye better get ready for alot of bad games if Steph and Francis are going to be the in the backcourt

At least they will keep the defence honest and will get him the ball

Like I said, all Frye had to do was show me he was capable of standing up to Amare. He didn't even come close to doing that.
