Knicks start with Ward, Houston, Shandon, KT and Othella. A average scoring of 5, 20, 7, 13, and 5 points from their starting lineup. Thats not good.

Allan looks like he is getting move elevation on his J than last year. KT, 2 quick fouls and is on the bench. You know the team is in trouble when......Travis Knight is the first off the bench.

Wow, the Knicks are playing well. Allan Houston is lighting it up. He always plays his best when he is the goto guy (no Spree).

Ward it playing D with reckless abandon. Othella is hitting his shots.

Knicks 27-19 at the end of the first.

for all the 24 pts allan has scored thus far, rip hamilton has lit into houston for 21 big ones, and it's still the 3rd qtr. when is houston gonna pull his famous houdini act and disappear? oh yeah, the 4th qtr.

Houston has not been guarding Rip, Shandon has....but most of his points came when the Knicks had to go to the Eisley Ward backcourt. Houston is still playing well. Eisley looks terrible. Still no clue on offense.

Knicks 65-60 after 3.

And Houston does disappear in the fourth. Actually the entire team did. Houston forced shots because no one else could hit one. Othella lost his first half touch and started to take shots out of his range. Ditto for Spoon. Eisely started the fourth and the Knicks never recovered. Houston is not the player that can carry a team for the entire game by himself. You can't fault his 30+ preformance though.

Unfortunatly this was a beatable team. Detroit does not have a legitamate allstar, and no unstoppable scorer. They don't really have a post scorer either. It's going to be a long season.

I blame the 4th quarter collapse completely on Eisley...I hope this season is not like last season where we would lead through the game and always blow it late

Howard Eisley was awful last time. As you guys have said, he looked clueless.

I love Charlie. He didnt distribute the ball that effectively,
but he played great individual D and he anchored the strong team D.

Could you believe those charges he took last night! He took a third
one, but the refs made a bad call.

Obviously, the Knicks looked diminutive (Walt Clyde word) on the glass.

But I do think the Knicks can survive with that if they continue to play great D like last night (for three quarters anyway.)

Im not sure if trading Spree is the answer. Spree has so much heart
and would have pushed the Knicks over the hump in the 4th. DO you
really think that Nick Van Ex or Damon Stoud would do that?

Well, its only been one game, lets see what they do against Philly tommorrow.

Last night could have been even worse if Allan was called for and obvoius foul that would have been his 4th with half of the second period remaining. The refs bailed us out on that one with the no call. Sort of a bone head play by Allan, and to a lesser part Chaney for not immediately getting him out of there whe he got his 3rd.

I'm not to up on all the complex rules... can someone answer me this... Can we waive Eisley or buy out his contract... resulting in him coming off our payroll after he signs with another team...?
I can't stand him and would love to dump him before next year... If this is doable by taking a big hit now and not having to endure him for the long term.. I say do it... But like I said... I'm not up on all the rules... Next year we will have Ward, Vujonic, and Williams at point. Eisley NEEDS to go one way or another... Noone is stupid enough to trade for him though...

I'm not positive, but this is what I think the deal is. If you waive a player any team can claim him off of waivers (salary cap permittinf) and pay him the salary that he was receiving from his origional team. This is sort of what NY had the chance to do with Nailon. Not many teams do this because if no teams claim the player, he becomes a free agent and may sign with any team. The catch there is that the team that waived him must pay his origional salary, and the new team only pays a small amount.
