STEVE FRANCIS HAS TO GO

after long and hard thought... i think he is the one player that just doesent make sense for this team... if only we could get a dalembert type player back for him... jus someone who blocks shots and rebounds... we would relly have a complete team.... I think steve is a good player its not about that.. its more simply that he doesent fit here, a 2g playing with steph needs to have a jumper... plain and simple... Crawford really improved and i dont think it makes sense to stunt his growth for francis to start... Anyways.. i think he is the one player isiah needs to dump.. someway.. somehow... but i dont think he will

I agree with this fully. If Francis doesn't go then I want Marbury gone, hell it'd be nice if they were both gone but that won't happen. I'm still baffled that the Knicks starting backcourt this season will include neither a PG or a SG, instead it will include 2 combo guards, I just don't see that having too much success. The Knicks sorely need a 2guard who can shoot the ball mid-range and out with consistancy, come off curls and shoot the ball and play some defense. I don't see any of those with Francis or Marbury and the Knicks will not go anywhere next year if they don't have a SG with these qualities. It'd be nice to have a PG who initiates and commands the floor at the PG too.

I couldn't agree more...at this point he's more redundant than redundant...I have more hope for Curry to play at or near his level of expectations than "franchise". The only growth I want him affecting is nate's.

Nate's electric and all and is capable, but franchise is good when he's bad. He still comes away with boards and assists. He contributes.d.s.d at one time.

But that's a big IF.

edit: if steve plays up to his abilities.

This is why I really wanted Justin Williams from Wyoming. The kid played awesome in the Orlando pre-draft camp and is playing well for Sacremento during the summer league. Wouldn't have been that upset if they used the 29th pick on him or traded down into the second round to get him. As is, he went undrafted but didn't even get an invite - Sacremento grabbed him for the summer league. You're right Elite, this is a big element that we're missing - Curry and Frye really aren't shotblockers. Oh well...

Totally agree with unloading Francis. Just no room for him at all. Think I'd buyout Malik Rose too.

Agreed. He is just going to make it poisonous around here.
All the bad characteristics we don't like about Marbury get
that much worse when pairing him with another with just the
same flaws. His being on this team is like a splinter in
my brain... always nagging me. It was a terrible trade
unless we can move him for something we need.

Francis really is not for this team. Cant we trade him for an expiring... from the lakers and an '07 pick? I cant imagine the Lakers not wanting Francis for free basically. Or any team that misses out on Mike James not wanting Francis - Dallas, Houston, Sota. They all could use Francis and should swap for an expiring. I'd most want Sota's pick out of those 3. Maybe the Hawks could use francis, but the cap on contracts longer than a year block them from doing so.

The Memphis Griz might want Francis for an expiring... but IT might just want to give the little back court of Francis and Marbs a chance before he tears that off.

His damn contract is just too long and too high. Why in the world did they sign him to an average of 16 mil anyways? Actually, I'd much rather get rid of starbury, but that's almost impossible.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Nate is 5'-9" on paper, but he's 6'-6" at heart!
I'll never trust this' team again.

5'7" in heels? Sounds like he's playing in the wrong league. Maybe we do a Nate for Becky Hammon trade.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
