Euroleague Week 3 MVP: Milos Vujanic of Partizan!

His team may not be enjoying success yet, but just the same, Milos Vujanic has brought Partizan Mobtel its first award of the season. Vujanic (22, 190), the point guard for Partizan and a world champion since last month with the Yugoslav national team, has earned this week's MVP honor by putting on the best overall performance of any player according to the index rating system. What's more, with his 36 points in a home loss to Virtus Bologna, Vujanic was not only the best scorer this week, but now tops the overall rankings with 23.6 points per game. In 38 minutes against Virtus, Vujanic made 8 of 16 two-point shots, 2 of 5 three points and 14 of 16 free throws, which he got by drawing 15 fouls, another category in which he leads the Euroleague, with 11.7 per game. He aslo grabbed 3 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal. It all added up to an index rating of 37. That was 2 ratings points ahead of the next best player, Luis Scola of Tau Ceramica. Joseph Blair of Ulker and Derrick Dial of Virtus came next, with 33 each, and Andres Nocioni of Tau was fifth, with a 29 rating.

We need a post player first. If we can find an athletic post player i would package Milos in the deal in a minute. I really believ the guys is a 2 not a three. while his scoring numbers are very impressive his assits totals are putrid. this matters IMO because he will NOt be dropping anywhere near 20 a game in the NBA trade bait

So he's a scoring SG in a PG's body (Marbury, Iverson, Francis, Nash). Who cares. Why would you package Milos in a deal for a post player when he's playing so well?

And his assist numbers are probably down there becuase, as the article said (it helps if you read) his team isn't doing well, but he is. It's like putting Marbury on the Nugs and saying go get a ton of assists. Of course he's going to score.

This is looking nce, finally a decent Knicks prospect to look forward to.

I hope you meant to say "2, not a 1". Milos is definitely a pg. And did you forget about Dice? The dude is hurt, but I think he will be back in strong form before... well, next season.

Milos assist numbers are low because the European game is different than the U.S.. 2 or 3 assist there is equivalent to 6 or 7 assist here. Don't trade Milos at all.

I say don't trade him unless they get a point guard when they trade Sprewell. Because with the signing of Nailon its just a matter of time when Spree is out the door. So if you trade Spree for a big man I think the Knicks will be ok for next year. They could have Dice back next year with Milos and a potential high draft pick. This year they may suck but next year it could turn around faster then Knick fans thought.

I hope they keep Milos; he could be a pretty good player in the NBA.

Yes I was about to point that out. Assists are much harder to get in Europe. And the good thing about Milos is that he creates fouls. I don't think we have enough players on our team that are agressive and that can go to the line often.

I`ve watched two Partizan games this year on Tv and it`s a very bad team so the scoring numbers of Milos don´t make a difference in the Euroleague. The real difference is his personality he shout, he talk, he want the ball because he want to win ...always!... I love it. I did not see a lot of games of Drazen Petrovic but Milos has a little of him. With Milos, Williams, Lavor, Dice and agood draft in two yers we`llwin games again.

They should keep Vujanic only because I think he is going to be LeBron's, Steve Kerr or John Paxson. Now the hard part landing the main man.
